The beginning of my volunteering was great, the people at the Hostel, both Emre and Emir Simge, received me very well, Emre gave me a bed, food and extra commission. That was great, it allowed me to raise money, but after spending almost 1 month fulfilling all my schedules, my host changed his attitude towards me a lot, without knowing why and he didn't allow me to talk to him either, he ignored me all the time, and He argued with me on Whatsapp, he even asked me to leave the Hostel, which I didn't do because I was on the street! It's a shame, but that doesn't overshadow how much fun 😊

Immediately when I arrived I was informed that I would be working more than the allowed hours through world packers because he was "running a business". I was forced to work 36 hour shifts give or take. I was never given a room or bed. I was forced to sleep on a bench in the main entry area of the hostel and never had a safe place for my items. I was provided breakfast less than 10 times in my close to 30 day stay. I was never offered pup crawls or parties however was informed how fun they were. I was "too busy" to attend per the host. Worst experience. This host is looking for free labor.

I Enjoyed My time in the hostel, The only negative thing is the terms that i applied for was two days off per week when i arrived Emre told me no it is gonna be one day off per week because i run a buisness and two days off are too much!! i already had another opportunity in another hostel in Istanbul offering two days off per week if i knew this will not be respected i would have chosen to go to the other hostel. It is better to edit the offer and write only one day off so people will know what to expect before coming.

My experience in a hostel was fantastic. It was incredible to meet lovely people from all around the world in my month stay. However, my encounter w/ the owner was terrible. There is a lot I can say but in summary: I didn't have a specific bed, I applied for 5hrs a day but I was given night shift 12hrs overnight, & we had a stressed discussion cause he changed his mind about my departure date two times. This day, the owner was rude & told me to get out of the hostel. My hard work & good feedback from guests no longer mattered.Although I recommend Worldpackers, I would never recommend this host
