Our stay at the host Bacalar was very short due to the poor accommodation we were given . The team was friendly and welcoming, but definitely, communication and organization were lacking . They knew 2 months in advance that we were gonna be here, but they forgot we were coming . The accommodations described were either a dorm room, a tent, or a balinese bed. As the dorms were unavailable, the tent had a hole, soaked mattresses, and a cat living inside, we went with the balinese bed. It was very cramped for two and not quite long enough for to fully stretch out. Tried one night just to see and left

Hola Eve!

Karen was extremely welcoming and accommodating to me! She trusted me and gave me artistic freedom throughout my stay, and we both had a great amount of respect and kindness towards the other. There were some volunteers that left early for their own reasons, but my personal experience with her was wonderful and I would absolutely come back again. The hostel is located in a perfect spot by the lagoon, where you could watch waves, stars, and all of the wildlife. I developed lasting connections with all the volunteers, and deeply value Karen as a friend as well.

The host Bacalar is such a special place, it felt like living a dream. Bacalar itself has a relax and tender energy, so the Laguna port is. The volunteers I've met here became good friends and the experience was great. About the tasks expect to do the 5 hours and weather here is really warm, important to know before coming. Overall, this is a worth it experience. Thank you Diana, Karen and Miriam for welcoming me :))
