This experience was overall very fun! We met great people from around the world, and all connected instantly. We spoke mainly English, but learned a bit of Spanish along the way. Outings like surfing, restaurants, and markets were common and always great- usually about a 15 min drive. The work was hard but manageable, and i'm excited to see the final result! Manrique's father, Marco, was there to help out due to the amount of people, and he was always willing to help. Manrique knows a lot about Costa Rica and I felt like I was always learning! I would definitely recommend staying here.

As my first volunteer experience I couldn't have asked for a better place to be. From the start, Manrique made me feel welcome and introduced me to the local culture. Most of the time, I volunteered solo, however it was no problem at all. The work at the finca is quite easy, and if you have some new things you want to try while you are there, Manrique is all about creativity and inspiration (and of life philosophy too) Beyond the Finca, there were always fun activities like jam sessions, salsa lessons, surfing and beach volleyball! Making it at the end, really hard to leave the place

We had an amazing time at the project. The work is fun as we helped to improve the Finca and I got taught a lot of things (f.ex. how to weld). Manrique puts a lot of effort in extra activities and making you feel welcomed. The Finca is around 10min by foot from the next supermarket and 40min by foot from the next beach. But dont worry about that to much as you'll be busy enough what Manrique organizes and even if not there's always someone on the road to catch a ride (hitchhike with). From the bottom of my heart I would recommend going there. Only on thing, bring enough mosquito repellant ;)

I had a great time at the project! Manrique is a very nice Host, he took us to hiking tours to the waterfall or to the beach. We were also able to get in touch with his local friends on little concerts or while surfing. The work was most of the time really fun and not too hard. The rooms are fine and the breakfast was great:) thank you very much for the great time!

Manrique is an inspiring and welcoming host who cares a lot about making your time in the project as fun as possible. Outside of the work hours he took us to see the waterfall, taught us how to surf, showed us around at the local beaches and much more (it was impossible to get bored ;) The work on the farm was relatively easy as we mostly cared for the plants, the chicken, continued working on the bioconstuction and helped to get the place back on track after the rain season. The two cats were adorable and made the stay even better. Overall we had a very good time!
