The Experience

I have a small farm within the Dartmoor National Park. I have created a garden of about two acres which is completly organic to attract butterflies and wildlife. I need general gardening help. This is maintenance not developmental. i am happy to pass on my skills and do the tasks with the volunteer. I currently have a small neglected vegetable patch which could be a challenge if the volunteer was up for a project.

Clive is wonderful, he became a good friend and one of my favourite people in the world, he is clever, funny, energetic and very welcoming, he instantly makes you feel at home, I was definitely sad when we had to say goodbye. It was my first volunteering experience and I couldn't have asked for a better one, I was amazed by everything in there, the nature, the fresh air, Bella (the cat), and learned a lot while my stay, I'm forever grateful that Clive gave me this opportunity cause it really changed my life, so thank you so much!, Ps. Every scenery is absolutely beautiful! 😍 Xx

From the very first moment, even before my arrival the communication with Clive was proper and assertive, I'm really glad to say that I've learnt not just new vocabulary to strengthen my English but an inmensurable knowledge about gardens, nature, coexistence and traditional costumes in the home. I absolutely positive recommend the experience with this fantastic and magical places and its dwellers. Each day was different and special, I could feel the spirit of each part of the landscape. The working hours snapped to fun and learning because of the marvellous hospitality. I'm fully grateful.

I spent two. weeks at the home with Clive and it was a wonderful experience. He has gorgeous gardens of all types on a large property. The tasks were varied and easy to accomplish. We worked together which was really nice and got lots accomplished. Clive is a good cook and we ate a variety of dishes that he. prepared as well as going out for fish and chips, one of my favorites. We went into Plymouth and I met some. of his friends which always adds to the experience. I highly recommend coming here and enjoying the wonderful splendor of living in the country. He also has a great cat.

After spending two weeks on the home I can honestly say that this experience has exceeded all of my expectations by giving me more than I could have ever imagined on every level. Sheepstor and it's surroundings are healing for the mind, body and soul. Immerse yourself and become one with nature. Clive is more than a host, I consider him as my friend and I will come back again. Clive shares all of his wisdom about nature and history with passion, patience and a great sense of humour. Clive is genuinely interested in who you are and does everything to make you feel welcome.
