Be a Worldpackers in a Permaculture Farm and B&B

2 reviews2

The Exchange

We run a small B&B close to the new airport in Quito and we are developing a permaculture project in the same property. I did a Permaculture Design Course in Australia with Geoff Lawton, my sister runs the hostel, my parents live with us and we work with local people. So this is a great opportunity to learn about ecuadorian culture and organic farming , sharing with peolple, plants and animals.

Program Details

We are looking for volunteers foused on the farm activities mainly, you also can give a hand in the kitchen to serve dinners for the gests at the B&B, if you want, . We have space to receive 3 people at the time (one double bed in one room and one single bed in another room), the three people share one toilet and one hot shower. The programm is focused in animal care and farming which means learning a lot about organic agriculture and to share with the people in the farm.

Activities & Shift

In the farm the activities can be varied from painting a wall to going with me to the market to sell the products, it depends on what it is needed to be done. We program our activities every week and you will be part of it once you arrive. As I said before, if the volunteer wants to help in the B&B , the main activity will be to help in the kitchen for the dinners and maybe some activities such helping on the translation of some paragraphs for the web page or so.
We would ask you to work 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. You would have free weekends.

Rules

We charge 5 dollars a day for your stay and food, we don't prepare food for you but you have access to our groceries, the farm products and the basic things that you need for cooking something for yourself, the B&B kitchen is always open for the volunteers. If you have special dietary requirements there is a supermarket where we can take you and you can buy the things that you would need during your stay. In the farm the use of drugs is not allowded.

We ask for respect and kindness with all the people living and/or working here and with the tourists, we would like to keep the good and peaceful environment and good vibes.

Silence at night especially in the area of the B&B is very important, and in the house area after 8pm is important as well.

Alcohol or drugs are not allowed on site.
