Shack: While you are here you will be living in a makeshift house called the "Mac Shack" built and named after our first traveler. I recommend taking a look at the pictures if you haven't yet. The Shack has a bunkbed and can only hold two travelers at a time. The shack doesn't have hot water, so the showers are cold. There is no plumbing, we have an attached outhouse with a compositing bucket. We will provide staple foods such as oatmeal, rice, and pasta for you. We also have fruit from our farm that you are welcome to enjoy.
Recommend to bring for farm work: big water bottle, hat, long sleeve tshirts and pants (pineapple and macnut leaves can be sharp and irritate the skin if poked). Safety glasses and work gloves can be provided if needed.
Activities & Shift
- Work hours are usually Monday - Friday 8am-2pm with an hour lunch break from 12pm-1pm.
- You will always have weekends off. The only exception to this is if we travel for the weekend, we may ask you to take care of a couple of daily chores for us such as watering plants and feeding the animals
Rules
- You cannot have any guest on the farm without first gaining our permission.
- No pets
