The experience

Work with us at the Finca Curubanda as a tourist guide! We are a company offering hikes to La Leona waterfall and tubing in the Rio Colorado river, located 20 minutes from Liberia centre. The Finca welcomes anyone with an interest in tourism, nature, photography or social media. At work, we provide the opportunity for you to learn about local nature and culture while helping us with tours, marketing and reception.

What you offer

6 hours of help per day

Content Writer: Write, edit and publish inspiring content.

Photography: Take, edit and provide amazing photos.

Video Making: Create, edit and publish digital videos.

Social Media: Maintain and update social media channels.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Program Details

At Finca Curubanda we offer food and accommodation in exchange for 5 days of work per week. As a volunteer, you will be working as a tour guide for our hike to La Leona Waterfall or tubing in Rio Colorado River. We also need help with reception work, photography, social media and marketing - so we are able to adapt your work schedule to your skills. Each tour to La Leona has a duration of approximately 2 hours, and includes hiking, swimming and some easy climbing. If you have any other ways you would like to contribute to our project in any way, let us know!

Activities & Shift

Our day usually begins at 7:30 with some preparatory chores, and finishes when the last tour has been completed. Depending on how long you stay with us, your work may vary (for example during shorter stays you might work in the reception).
