Help at our Kids Summer Camp in Lao Cai, Sapa Vietnam

The experience

Hello volunteers from all over the world,
We are looking for interested volunteers to help us with our kids' summer camp in the mountainous area of Lao Cai, Vietnam. Some daily tasks are for example:
- cooking
- play with the kids
- teach them English
- join in their activities

What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Cooking: Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 30 Per week

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: This is the contribution fee for daily food expenses and project activities

What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Accommodation: Get discounts for your stay in other hostels.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Yoga classes: Take free yoga classes at our place.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Fluent English or Fluent Vietnamese

Program Details

"We will organize a summer camp for children (aged 7-15) to explore the local area. The children will stay here for 3 weeks, and we need volunteers to support this summer camp. As the children are always full of energy and we only have two middle-aged women :D, volunteers who come here will often spend time looking after the children. It would be great if you love and can spend time playing with children.

I'm looking for an independent person who enjoys a simple life, likes spending time outdoors, and loves children—it will be a big advantage. The house offers comfort and security, internet, and an equipped kitchen. I'm living a straightforward but peaceful life, which means we have an open kitchen and small and easy bedrooms. I am open and excited to learn and try new things. Meals are mostly cooked by me, but volunteers can help if you want to, kitchen helpers are welcome.

Activities & Shift

You may mostly be working with the children all day, from when they wake up until they go to bed. Therefore, we encourage you to take time to explore and enjoy life here during your days off. However, while working with the children, you will almost fully discover the local culture, customs, and lifestyle of the Vietnamese mountainous people - that is the value we want to convey to the children through the summer camp, and you can also get it.
