The Experience

Are you keen to learn what is involved in running an almost self-sufficient farm? Would you like to work with animals and plants, set up new systems and maintain existing systems on the farm and learn how to improve soil quality? Would you like to eat homegrown food, discover how to separate cream and make butter and preserve excess produce? Are you not afraid of hard work, keen to learn and easygoing? If so, volunteering with us may be for you!

First my volunteer, ended up absolutely loving it. Tom has a big variety of land where different tasks can be done so the work is varied if you want it to be from gardening, banana tree maintenance to milking cows. His knowledge on permaculture is broad and he has loads of resources/books he's happy to share if you want to learn and happy to teach/explain if you have any questions. Lovely pets on the farm that always made the time that extra bit better. Also given responsibilities, mine was looking after chickens which I liked as it helped me learn new skills.
