The Experience

Cooking simple and at the same time gorgeous meals and keeping the 'Kosher Kitchen' :-) clean might be one of the most important tasks that need to be done. You actually make it possible for other volunteers to continue working physically on the project and fully enjoy the break moments!

Robur Op Den Eik is an awesome place, where you can find volunteers from all over the world, and everyone is so different but yet so connected 😍 I loved my experience there, it's a real back to basics environment, the perfect place for people who wish to resource themselves in nature.
Adding to it, Marieke is such a patient, lively and gentle host, she's like family, and she really cares about you and about how you feel. She has a wonderful project, and I'm glad I could be part of it for five weeks. I learnt so much there ! So thank you Marieke, I wish more volunteers will come to help you.

Robur is a place for renewal. I loved every moment. It creates an opportunity to connect with nature and people and more importantly yourself. The project that Marieke has created, started as a dream, and to have had an opportunity to be part of the dream come true is a privilege for which I will always be grateful. The learning experience and growth as an individual was priceless. My role as a cook was very rewarding. Every meal was an experience even cooking with very basic equipment made it far more enjoyable as you had to be creative to prepare meals. Loved every minute of my time there.

Oh Mary... I miss you so much! And at the same time I know we are strongly connected, as there is no distance in the eyes of love.
(And I'm still trying to take enough me-time, that was such a good thing you helped me with! I'm even starting to go to bed earlier, not only on the me-time moments, but also on full working days! All thanks to you...) BIG hugs!!! XXX

Oh, that's so sweet of you, Zhioshi, to say that... I'm so happy with you here, I just wish you could stay a lot longer! But we'll enjoy the rest of the time that you're here, taking care of all of us with your great kitchen and lovely music!

I had a great time at Robur. It's like transporting yourself to a different time, I was really lucky to share the work with amazing other volunteers, Marieke (the host) is a pool full of interesting stories and information about the Belgium culture. Working with Hempcret was a very unique experience, and I personally learned a lot with the fact that in Robur we use every component to its full capacity and share everything as a group
