The Experience

Robur and The Oak need creative volunteers with (semi-)professional carpenter skills and a good feeling of the place's atmosphere. By helping to build Robur you are part of realizing a connecting, small-scale project that will invite burnt-out people to heal, artists/writers to be creative, and a lot more - surrounded with unique custom- and homemade fourniture in a round and spiraling ecological hobbitlike weekend-cabin in nature!

Staying with Marieke in the Robur was a really great experience! The Robur is a very unique place with very unique people and a nice energy surrounding it.
I worked mostly in the kitchen and the job was hard but also very satisfying.
I arrived at the end of the week and there was a special event happening, and because of that Marieke couldn't be there for the volunteers as much as she usually does, but after the event it all became very nice and quiet and there was plenty of time to rest and enjoy the spot.
It's a wonderful place to be and I would definetly recommend it!

Thank you, Blas! It's good to hear that you're doing better now. Try to find your own priorities and stick to them, so you can find some rest in what life is bringing you. (And this goes for myself as well, ofcourse! ;-))

I think everyone should live this experiencie at least once in a life time, marieke and her project are really an example for this society/World. I learned a lot, met nice people and really had too much fun. Hope to come back very soon. Highly recommended.

I've nothing but positive things to say about my stay at Robur and Marieke, the owner. She does a great job running it with limited resources. The project and the story behind it are so beautiful and touching. I've learned a lot from Marieke and my time at Robur, I've met interesting people and I feel lucky to have been part of this project. Marieke does very well to make you feel at home. My work is not done, though, as I need to edit the video I shot, but I'm really looking forward to the result and I hope it helps to trigger more interest in people to help at Robur. Best of luck, Marieke.

Thanks a lot, dear Kurt, how nice and encouraging! I do hope our paths will cross again and again.
And I'm sooooo eager to see your video... If you need to make more shots to really have it the way you envision, don't hesitate to contact me!
I also sincerely hope I can somehow help with your own dream project...
A lot of luck to you, too, Kurt!
