I had such an amazing time at Hostel 33. It was my first volunteering and I could meet people from different places even though it was not high season. The staff was great and I made friends that I will remember forever. The work is not hard and they teach you what to do in the first week. Whenever you need someone is there to help. The food provided is enough for everyone and we always cooked together. Totally recommend this place and I would love to come back at some point. Oh, can't forget to mention the rooftop, where we used to party sometimes and watch an incredible sunset.

United Kingdom

First worldpackers experience, unfortunately, cut short due to Covid-19.

Visited start of season, lovely experience low tourists yet enough international travellers and a very local feel. Never considered Portugal before due to preconceptions. However, my mind is completely changed. Hostel not what everyone initially has in mind. Amazing hidden gems in the town if you explore! Immaculately clean, great location, easy work. Experience with hosts was great, home away from home. Could have stayed longer!

4 stars for my first day, I was left uninformed about when my shift/expectations.

Didn't spend too much time there but everything was good. The staff is really friendly and the tasks are fair. Only recommend go there during the summer because in the winter there's not much going on at the city.

Unique experience.. the staff was really friendly and helpful with me as a new volunteer.
I'd definitely come back. :)

The hostel is ok. They provide some basic food for you and the work is fair enough also. Volunteer rooms are tiny, something should be done about the moisture/mold on the walls. Besides that people are relaxed, and Ricardo is flexible to talk with. I left earlier because I had different expectations of the city and the social life.
