Auberge NOLA Hostel

We are a hostel located in New Orleans. We have fantastic reviews and pride ourselves on the relationship we have with our guests. We are always looking for social volunteers who can clean and lead an event one night per week while always maintaining great relationships with our current guests. We do many other activities where we take guests out on the town etc and we expect our volunteers to not just do their work and disappear but to become part of the hostel atmosphere, to eat, have fun, hang out with the guests, and participate in hostel activities.

We are fun people who wants to keep up with the great backpackers environment , party atmosphere and enjoy the Big Easy. Volunteers live in a dorm with only other volunteers.

I was not well received by the volunteers who did not tell me anything. If I had not asked what time the service would not have been given to me. I woke up for my first (and only) training on how it works, and the person who gave the training was a volunteer, Nichole, who taught me how it works. The host requires beginners to speak English, and the work requires knowing how to speak English. There is no person in charge, the volunteers are responsible for everything. I only saw the host on the day I left. I did not feel comfortable and the service has to be done by a receptionist.

When you applied for the Front Desk position we conducted a video interview where we thought you were a good fit and that your English was fine. We also, of course, describe and talk about what the job and your responsibilities will be.

We have a chat group where Worldpackers are in constant contact with both us and any other staff member. Plus you have our personal phone numbers for you to reach out to us whenever you need.

I personally have met you and had discussions with you where I stressed that your worries are unfounded and that your English was more than adequate.

Esse mês no Auberge NOLA foi uma experiência muito marcante. O hostel é muito bonito e tem ótimas instalações. Conheci muitos viajantes de diversas partes so mundo e sinto que aprimorei muito o meu inglês nesse período, principalmente porque as principais atividades são voltadas pra comunicação com os hóspedes, principalmente nos eventos sociais que acontecem diariamente neste hostel. A minha parte predileta definitivamente foi me conectar com os outros voluntários e termos uma casa só pra nós. Foi um prazer conhecer cada um de vocês: Nia, Andrea, Noémie, Jared, Vali, Kristy, Vann e Cal.

I truly enjoyed my time here at Auberge! Lucy and Robert are great hosts. The team I got to experience New Orleans with is like no other. We created a family in such a short amount of time. If you are looking for a great place to meet people from all over the world, share some great laughs and have a wonderful experience in New Orleans then Auberge is definitely the place to be!

One word: FAMILY! My time at Auberge Hostel was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I will forever cherish the connections I made here. It was such a joy to work with my fellow volunteers as our team felt like a big family. Lucy and Robert are amazing people who always ensure you're having the best time. The work was easy and fun as it allowed me to meet awesome people from all around the world and have the best time with them. NOLA is such a vibrant city, that you'll never get bored. Forever grateful to all the people who made this experience possible, this is home and I will be back :))
