Big Style Atlantic Lodge

Welcome to the BigStyle Atlantic Lodge, our favourite place to be in the world!

Bigstyle is an adventure watersports company founded in 2013, and is now best known for our Atlantic Lodge in Co Mayo. From here we host regular weekend retreats offering watersports and outdoor adventure, delicious veggie food, yoga, gigs, campfires and all sorts of craic. All set on the spectacular views of the Wild Atlantic Way.

Coming to work with us will see you in a variety of tasks - housekeeping, kitchen hand, customer relations. You will also get the opportunity to work with us on our famous Big Slice nights making sourdough pizza in our purpose built wood fired pizza oven.

In your down time you will have access to surf equipment and are within easy reach of some of Ireland’s finest surf and kitesurfing spots. If watersports aren’t your thing we have lots of hikes, walks and chill out spots to take advantage of.

The company was built through our love of the outdoors and our want to find an alternative living lifestyle to escape from city life. As a volunteer you will become part of the team and will be part of helping us build a dream that we have turned into reality. If you are keen to experience the outdoors and the West of Ireland then coming to stay with us is an easy choice.

I had an amazing experience at BigStyle! Us volunteers became a little family and were in awe of the scenery every single day. I loved being by the beach and each day we’d swim, surf, walk or do yoga (wetsuits & boards included!)🌞 Ally, Griffin and Paco were always happy to help and are lovely, hilarious and down-to-earth managers. Being there at the end of the season had its perks too - the workload was easygoing and we had lots of free time to explore and use the facilities (i.e. hot tub and sauna…). Thanks for everything guys, this was the best welcome to Ireland 🇮🇪 I highly recommend!

My experience at BigStyle was truly incredible! I just have to thank the team who were always very kind and welcoming to me. It was a amazing opportunity to teach Yoga in this wonderful place developing my ability to teach in English and contribute to people's well-being. It was great to practice surf and relax in the Big Dipper. All this brought me a lot of joy, learning and good connections. I felt it was a privilege to see that stunning landscape everyday and also to stay in the great rooms of the Lodge, because it was almost winter and there weren't many guests. I miss everything... 🩵

During the 5 weeks I was at Big Style, I had the opportunity to experience moments that I will never forget. It was one of the most enriching experiences I've had, the staff is incredible, the surf, the yoga, the hiking, the freedom we had to explore the surroundings, the food, the energy, the sauna and jacuzzi, the good neighbors, the rainbows. Working hours were respected and the entire team is amazing and lovely.
I'm so grateful to had this opportunity in my life and I'm so happy to have met the people I spent time with.

My experience at the Lodge was beyond expected! I really enjoyed the weekend work; preparing food for the guests, and afterwards going to the sauna or the pub for a Guiness. During the week, the work is nice and easy. Cleaning the rooms and common areas, wich were really cozy, making the tasks more enjoyable. We had plenty of time to go hiking, running, surfing and paddleboarding. I'll really miss the staff team, the Lodge and Killadoon; wich has an amazing energy that grows into you, the wind, the cold, the sea... each day you feel more connected to the nature, the surroundings, and yourself
