We are a comfortable hostel located in Monte Estoril, 23 km from Lisbon and 10 km from Sintra. Cascais is 1.5 km away and can be easily accessed through a beautiful footpath by the sea. Lisbon Airport - Humberto Delgado is 25 km from the property.
The volunteers will integrate a small but very friendly and cheerful team, committed to making this hostel one of the most famous in the city for its welcoming and friendliness. They will be treated with all courtesy as if they were from the house.

It's my 4th WP experience. Adaptation period to working here ended up being very long due to organization issues. Work itself is simple, but get stressful due to logistics and management. I recieved training on how to make beds only on my last day there. it's often needed to make improvised solutions.
High season + disorganization ended up making the experience stressful, which culminated in a volunteer's meeting to suggest changes. All resulted on my departure ahead of time.
What made me stay was my relationship with other volunteers + guests. Staff is helpful and always try to aid you.

O CTW hostel fica em uma ótima localização perto da estação de trem para Lisboa e da praia. O hostel é bem simples e o trabalho também, porém ele se torna desgastante por conta da infraestrutura e organização do mesmo (tratando-se de uma Associacao social). Acredito que tenha muitos pontos a melhorar, e poderiam ter mais benefícios aos voluntários para criar uma atmosfera mais de intercâmbio cultural e menos de trabalho. Eu e o time de voluntários escrevemos um feedback que foi prontamente escutado, acredito que melhorias virão. Obrigada à equipe.

The hostel is located 5 minutes walking to the beach. You have lots of bars and restaurants around the area and it's just 40 minutes by train from Lisbon.
They give you the monthly schedule, which is great so you can plan your trips and manage your free time in advance.
The managing team is super nice and always make you feel welcomed during your stay.

Muy padre! Agradezco muchísimo a Uli, una excelente líder! El lugar es hermoso, y la gente que se hospeda ahí es muy linda. Por unos problemitas personales no pude acabar mi experiencia, pero todos los días fueron muy lindos. Tal vez lo único malo es el horario de la tarde, en muchas ocasiones no haces nada y se vuelve muy aburrido. Por todo lo demás quiero agradecer a todos y a Change The World. Espero volvernos a encontrar

This was my first Workaway experience and also one of the most enriching experiences of my life.
On a professional level I gained experience in many of the tasks that are carried out in a hostel and I improved my levels of Portuguese and English and on a personal level I had the opportunity to create very strong bonds with my host family.
Both Julia and Uil were always excellent bosses who knew how to guide me so that I could give my best.
And as for my fellow volunteers: Richi, Jean and Fabio. The three of them are incredible people who can always count on my friendship.
