CoDE Pod Hostels - THE CoURT

We already have the highest rated hostel in Edinburgh under our belt, now we're growing!

Housed in a converted courthouse and jail, our new pod hostel, right on the Royal Mile in the heart of the Old Town, is now open and we need your help to welcome our guests and keep it sparkling clean.

As all our beds are brand new and rooms newly refurbished, cleaning is a doddle.

We'll give you a cosy Pod in a shared room, as well as breakfast- We serve freshly made waffles every day!

We have a friendly full time staff of 10 and usually around 4-8 volunteers staying with us at a time, so there's always somebody to hang out with!

I had a great time in Edinburgh! Volunteering at the CoDE was a fair exchange; you'll have 3 to 4 days off per week depending on morning or night shifts you get. The job is simple enough, and the pod is really comfortable.
Special thanks to Meg, Richard, Leighton, and Rohan for always being so nice and helpful. Also Evan, Sara and Rossie for the friendliness. It was nice meeting other volunteers and some staff too. Thanks everyone!

It was an incredible experience. The staff is very nice, the hostel has a good structure and is organized. They respect work and rest times. I didn't have any problems with them. Furthermore, it is a super interesting historic building and there are some tours/tastings that we can take at no cost. I made a lot of friends and the city is also wonderful.

Volunteering at The Code was super fun! The hostel was probably the nicest I’ve ever stayed in and the Pods provided some well needed privacy especially when you are there for a long period of time. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. I made really good friends with the other volunteers aswell.
My only constructive feedback would be to work on team communication, as when I was still learning the job roles I was told to do them several different ways by different people which made it slightly confusing. I think clearer instructions to the team would be beneficial ! :)

Me senti em casa durante o meu voluntariado. Fui bem recebida, o time me tratou super bem. A melhor parte foi encontrar pessoas de diversos países e poder compartilhar essa experiência. Eu trabalhei como cleaner e alguns dias eram mais pesados e outros mais leves. Também fiz alguns eventos e foi incrível. Para quem deseja conhecer a Escócia, esse é um ótimo voluntariado, pois você terá alguns dias off e dá pra fazer pequenas viagens. Se eu puder deixar uma dica: sempre pergunte 2 vezes se não entender direito alguma informação. Sempre tire todas as dúvidas sobre tudo o que precisar saber.
