Danhostel Aarhus City

• A perfect location in the heart of the second largest city in Denmark, giving you the best opportunity to experience all the cultural events that will take place in Aarhus. • An opportunity to make new friends from all over the world as you will be part of a very international family. We're sure you will perfectly fit into the pack. :)

You will be part of a volunteer team (10-14 people) that will focus on making our hostel a warm and cozy experience for our guests. You will help in shifts ranging among cleaning, housekeeping, serving breakfast, dishwashing, maintenance, and hosting events. You will sleep in a separate bed in a larger dormitory with other crew members, and you will also share shower, toilet, washing & drying, and kitchen facilities. There is a private bathroom for crew members to use near the sleeping area. Your bed has a curtain for privacy, power sockets, private light and the hostel has free, fast WiFi. We provide all bedding and a towel. You can enjoy our delicious breakfast buffet every morning and have lunch and dinner prepared by our cook. You can feel like home in our rooftop café area, and enjoy our roof-top terraces where you can relax.

Danhostel has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. The other volunteers and staff were lovely and made me feel at home right away! You work part of the day, so you still have plenty of time to explore incredible Aarhus! The location is right in the middle of everything, so it’s easy to explore with friends in free time. The volunteer coordinator works to put you in your task of preference to the best of her ability which is greatly appreciated and shows Danhostel’s mission to create a wonderful environment for everyone. Made some life-long friends here and will be returning!

The first week of staying at Danhostel, we could stay in a private room which was amazing especially compared to the last place we stayed at. The work hours are fair and adjustable to your preferences if you notify on time. At the start of the week, the volunteers hand in a list containing what kind of food you want, so make sure you agree and communicate upon what you want. I have had an incredible time here by meeting many people, who are super friendly and nice. I highly recommend Danhostel if you want to have a good time in a clean and comfortable space with lots of different people!

Tony is a very nice guy, willing to help and had a good relationship with the team.
We wish you great travels, Tony, and thanks for your help! ;)

I stayed there for two months and I would have stayed more! The manager and receptionists are strict but super nice and understanding, they value the good work but also enjoy chatting randomly in a daily basis so they always felt accessible and part of the team. The volunteers that I shared with were also an awesome group and the sense of community was always present in the hostel, eating together, playing cards, going on "adventures" around Aarhus, etc.
Thanks to all, I will always cherish you in my memory (and hopefully I'll be back some day to visit) 😄❤️

Overall Aarhus is a wonderful place and even the Hostel itself was cool. I just felt that along with the host and the volunteers there’s more of a private party going on having me felt left out for I don’t know what reason but seemed common background related. Denmark is a beautiful country with the most loveliest people in the world so a foreigner like myself just like the host and volunteers should blend in like how the Danes make us feel in their lovely country where I’ve lived since 2012. Also when it was agreed for me to volunteer for at least three weeks but suddenly they made it a week.
