Experiential Journey with TGG Foundation in Wayanad

"MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE"

The experiential journey programs with TGG Foundation are available through the Responsible Human Mission, a membership program promoted by us to consciously connect people beyond geographical division, religion, race, gender, and color.

We work to empower the rural community through sustainable livelihood creation.

Our initiatives can be divided into the following core activities:

FOR CAREER READINESS & ECO ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Embracing minimalism and enhancing existing skills, they become adaptable professionals, prioritize happiness, and balance their lives across social, professional, and commercial spheres. FOR SKILLBASED TRAINING PROGRAM
The Experiential Learning Programme (ELP) is a transformative initiative that bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in sustainability, community development, and responsible living. Through immersive, hands-on experiences, it equips participants—ranging from students, professionals, and eco-conscious travelers to community leaders, young innovators, and global citizens—with the skills, insights, and networks needed to foster environmental stewardship, cultural appreciation, and sustainable practices. Ideal for curious and adaptable individuals eager to step out of their comfort zones, the ELP empowers them to drive positive change and make a meaningful impact in their personal and professional lives. FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN SUSTAINABLE LIVING:
In the year 2014, we took over the maintenance of the Green Gardens Farm in Wayanad, Kerala and have started working towards sustainability. Our vision was to transform the farm into a zero waste, zero budget project that empowers the rural community and provides a venue for urban youths and international students to understand sustainability practices.

It would be our great pleasure to introduce you to Wayanad, Kerala. It is a bio-diversity hot spot surrounded by beautiful nature and scenery.

Laiju and Namitha, passionate advocates of minimalist living, are the founders of TGG Foundation. Their shared values and social commitment ignited a journey that naturally culminated in the establishment of the TGG Foundation Charitable Trust in 2014, nestled in the serene landscapes of Wayanad. With an unwavering aim to create a more sustainable world, the foundation embodies their philosophy of harmony with nature and humanity. At its core, TGG Foundation reflects their dedication to fostering socially responsible citizens, promoting environmentally conscious development, and nurturing respect for the elderly, women, and children. The foundation also emphasizes the cultivation of spiritually enriched minds, believing that a balanced spirit is the cornerstone of a healthy and thriving world. Through their efforts, Laiju and Namitha inspire individuals and communities to embrace mindful living and collectively work toward a future where sustainability and compassion are woven into the fabric of everyday life.

TGG foundation is an interesting project with lots of potential to learn about sustainability. Laiju and his wife are incredible human beings, they treated me like part of the family. I was able to have my own room, good talks and delicious meals. Unfortunately I decided to leave the place earlier because the tasks were not as clear, I ended up doing more marketing content on my computer rather than learning about permaculture. We tried to discuss but I felt that things were not on alignment. If you decide to apply go with no expectations and communicate what you would like to learn. Namaste

It was indeed a treat to meet Sri Nhat. He is on a path that is seldom travelled by many. His vibes created a positive impact, and both me and Namitha enjoyed his presence and communications. We have many opportunities available at TGG Foundation, and it keeps changing from time to time based on weather. Generally, most of the natural farming activities starts from November once the rain gets over and it continues till January. Also, I spend time with each participant as soon as they arrive to understand how they wish to contribute their time, based on that the activities are created. As rightly said, expectations are always a cause of worry hence all those who visit us must walk in without any expectations with an intention to contribute their time for a greater purpose and for the benefit of all. Else the purpose of volunteering is defeated.

Laiju and Namitha are wonderful people. They made us feel completely welcome.
Laiju is a great communicator, and has an interest in all subjects, we talked for many hours on everything from sustainability to politics.
Namitha’s cooking was amazing, and I enjoyed all the traditional dishes she made!
Laiju has a worldwide vision of a sustainability network, and also contributes locally within the rural community.

My husband Dan, and I, stayed at TGG Foundation for 3 weeks, with Laiju and Namitha.
They were both very welcoming, and Namitha cooked wonderful Keralan food.
During our time at TGG we learned about their social responsibility and sustainability projects, and became involved in rewriting content for the website, decisions on renovation for a local Anganwadi (kindergarten), monitoring the infrastructure for the new Permanent RHM Centre, visiting TGG Farm, experimental cooking in the volunteers' kitchen (pot luck with Laiju and Namitha each evening), a yoga course, and exploring the local area.

Volunteering at TGG has been one of the most significant experiences of my life so far, for several reasons: it took me out from my comfort zone in a very unique way (and this made me grow), I met grounded and wise human beings (and we had beautiful conversations), I got close to nature like never before, I started exploring new academic branches of interest, and I was given the space to be myself. Would definitely recommend. Thanks TGG!

Laiju and Namita were like family. From day one we connected like as if we started from where we left off. We always worked as a team to see what best could be done for future projects in mind. We cared, we laughed, we shared some beautiful moments, we comforted each other. They always took me along everywhere they went, and I so enjoyed being a part of their life for 17 days. More than anything, “We were one!”
