Flexible Work Schedule in The OC, Orange Couny, California

If you have experience in construction, renovation, plumbing. electrical, repairs, etc. then come and enjoy the peaceful, beautiful setting in the canyon, then drive to the cities of Orange County (30 minutes from Irvine) and to the beach in less than an hour! There is so much to explore in Orange County, or venture into Los Angeles or San Diego.
If you like, start each day with a hike up our private mountain.
We allow very flexible work schedules, but ask that you are available to work on most weekends.

Stay in a private guest house for Worldpackers. Help our family of three grade school kids, one dog, and two cats to do various projects around our large property. If we go on a trip while you're here, one of your jobs will be to take care of the dog and cats.

I really enjoyed helping Colin and his family; they are very kind. The tasks are simple, the schedule is flexible, and the experience is amazing. The place is a paradise in nature, surrounded by a rich ecosystem with diverse birds. Waking up to their songs is magical. The accommodation is wonderful, with beautiful views. And of course, Tashi, their adorable dog, is a great companion. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to connect with nature in a peaceful and welcoming environment.

We’ve stayed with Colin and his family for 3 weeks. On the weeks we were there they traveled, so we had to take care of the animals and do a few projects that Colin sent to us. The works were simple, like paint a door, install a wood step, cut the grass. Only working on the hill was difficult. The guest house, which we stayed, was complete. Kitchen with every equipment and comfortable bathroom and bed. Colin’s wife, Lela and their children were polite and friendly! The house is far from the city and commercial area, you’ll need a car to stay there. I would definitely recommend to stay there!

Great host family with a variety of tasks and respectful of time commitment and very flexible. I helped with some small renovations in a camper home and the buildings. There was a big wildfire nearby at the start of the trip so helped with some fireproofing as well. Slept in a camper home and in the guest house for different periods. Helps to have a car to see more of the nearby sites and city. There are some trailheads of varying difficulty, right by the property but not all well maintained.
