Then I have been in Portugal for a month, started alone as a volunteer in the surf paradise in Arrifana, Aljezur (Portugal).

The lifestyle to the many of the people I met lived here, worked from the computer, and surfed in the afternoon, and most evenings you could enjoy live music at the various surf cafes/restaurants. Grateful for the nice people, the conversations and the new memories I have for life! Definitely coming back, I loved it🌸

It was great to volunteer at this Hostel! Milena, Daniela, Isabel, Ju and all the crew were so kind all the time. They always helped if there was something to.
The shifts were like it's defined and it was even possible to change some in a flexibel way.
The hostel is at a calm and lovely place where you can just have a good time! I loved it :)

My time at Arrifana has been super chill and relaxed. I had lots of free time to enjoy the nature, share time with the lovely volunteers and guests and make lots of unforgettable memories!
The working hours and tasks were easy and fair, specially now in low season. The staff has been always super caring and attentive, providing us everything we needed. I would totally recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a beach and surf lifestyle :)

I stayed here for 4 weeks during low season and it was very calm. The working shifts rotated a lot so it never really got boring and they were very easy and fun to do! Because it was so calm there were not many events going on anymore in Arrifana itself so sometimes the surroundings became a bit boring. I recommend renting a car before coming here because it will make it easier to get to places. Management at the hostel could be better because there weren’t any surfboards as they had advertised and not every week breakfast was as promised. I loved the experience and would like to come back.

Great location near the beach with some lovely people. Outside of the summer there is not very much to do and not so many people to socialise with. There are few events that are usually at least 40 mins walk away. The nearest supermarket is also 40 mins away so can be difficult to get groceries.
I came for the surf and was told there would be surf boards for the volunteers. These were never provided so we had to buy our own.
Initially we were housed in a garage. It was full of insects and smelt bad so not the best but after two weeks we were moved to a better room inside the hostel.
