My experience was good. The hostel is not very big so the work is easy, you just need to make sure you do everything exactly as Nina teaches you, everything is perfectly clean and organized, if you have patience it won't be a problem! Communication can be a little tricky, but everything works out. Just as she is demanding she also cares and takes care of everything and everyone! We have everything we need there. Alex is always available for whatever we need, schedules are respected. the Hostel is in the heart of Sofia so it's perfect to get to know the whole city!

The hostel has the best location, and we have everything we need. the job is simple, but do everything as Nina asks, she doesn't speak English, sometimes it's complicated but if you have patience, she will always be kind, gentle and will take care of you. Alex is patient and always available to help. If you want to meet Sofia, I recommend it.

The place is very nice and right in the center of the city, the room is comfortable although I was a bit cold some nights, communication with Nina at first was difficult for me, after learning how to do things like indicates everything was better, Nina is now my mother in Bulgaria

I spent a month at Hostel N.1 and I had a truly unique experience.
As all the other comments say, the work is straight forward but strict.

You will be criticized a lot. Nina cares deeply about the hostel, the guests and the volunteers. She is not trying to make you feel bad, she is trying to make the best choices for the hostel.

Even if I sometimes was frustrated or lost my patience, I am so glad I went to Sofia and got to meet Nina, Alex and the other volunteers. You will love Hostel N.1 by the end of your stay, and miss it when you leave.

Esse foi meu primeiro intercâmbio voluntário, sendo uma ótima experiência e aprendizado. Sófia é incrível e a localização do hostel te permite conhecer os lugares com facilidade, superando minhas expectativas. As tarefas são tranquilas e os horários flexíveis, mas com algumas regras, que é possível se adaptar. Nina é exigente, mas nós entendemos muito bem.
