Hostel Arco Elis

Our hostel is a fun and welcoming place from people from all over the world. Most our staff speak English, Spanish and their mother tongue, so it's a great place to practice your language skills!

We offer all of our volunteers a comofortable bed in a shared dorm, free dinner every day, as well as a whole array of fun activities throughout the week.

You will make new friends, learn new skills and fall in love with one of the most fascinating cities that Europe has to offer!

Our international staff is one of the best aspects of our hostel! The relationship between the volunteers and the rest of our staff (managers and receptionists) is rooted in mutual respect. We value good communication, making sure of have weekly meetings and help to get you acclimatized! Is very important for our team to have a great comunication feedback, energy to work and share great moments with the guests and staff.

This has been without a doubt the best place I have volunteered in.
The staff were great, caring and respectful. The facilities were nice, clean and comfortable. The shifts were fair and fun!
I ended up extending a couple more weeks because I was enjoying it so much.
I got to meet a lot of incredible people and simply had the greatest time in the city.
I would definitely come back and volunteer again and will 100% recommend to everyone!

Really great experience, all the staff are super nice and friendly and you have the ability to suggest activities to do with guests. I got the opportunity to hike up Monserrat, see the bunkers, Montjuïc, and other really fun and cool places. Hope to come back and visit again sometime. :)

Working at Black Swan hostel was an amazing experience! The shifts were well-organized, with 5 shifts a week—some lasting 6 hours, others 5 hours. The tasks were a great mix of cleaning, leading tours, and helping to prepare dinner, which kept things dynamic and fun. Zuzanna, the manager, was always flexible and supportive, and the guests were full of excitement and great energy. If you enjoy connecting with friendly people, exploring the city, and being part of a lively environment, this is the perfect place for you!

Mi experiencia en Black Swan fue increíble. Barcelona es una ciudad maravillosa, llena de historia y una arquitectura impresionante. El staff del hostel es súper amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar, lo que crea un ambiente muy acogedor. Las tareas son sencillas, claras y bien organizadas. Además, tuve la suerte de compartir esta experiencia con un grupo de voluntarios increíble, con quienes creé recuerdos inolvidables ♥. PD: La habitación es algo pequeña, pero no afecta para nada disfrutar de esta hermosa experiencia. GRACIAS A TODOS :)

Black Swan was truly a second home to me, I will forever be grateful for my time there. The friendships I formed with the other volunteers and guests are so so special to me, we made many unforgettable memories together. The hostel itself elicits such a homey, cozy vibe that it is very easy to settle in and feel comfortable right away. The shifts are very very reasonable and honestly quite fun, it was nice getting to work with the receptionists and cleaners and become close with them as well. Lots of free time, location is AMAZING, I fell in love with Barcelona, never wanted to leave <333
