To be part of an international team, get to know people from all over the world and experience the everyday life of the hostel business in Vienna's oldest and best hostel!
Over the years we have become really good friends and that is one of the reasons for the good atmosphere and team work at the reception. We care for each other, have fun together and it really feels like a big family! That is how volunteers can expect to be treated :) See more about that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVepcu_dqHM A security deposit of EUR 120 is also required in order to guarantee your place in the program. This should be paid up to a month prior to your arrival date and will be refunded at the end of your stay. The down-payment can be done via Paypal or bank wire. Thank you!

My experience at the hostel was amazing. I've been worked in many hostels and this one is on top.
Monika does a really good job selecting the staff and Juan is the best manager that I ever had.
The accommodation was perfect, the hours and the task are super faire. All the staff that work at the hostel is super welcoming, this amazing environment is possible thanks to the owner, Stephan is a really generous person.
This hostel gives a lots benefits to the volunteers without asking for anything, so please be aware of that, bring good reviews, be responsable and do a good job.

I had a great time at Hostel Ruthensteiner. It’s been a unique and intense experience, I made great connections, learned a lot about myself and acquired some useful lifeskills. The work expected was as described, there was enough time to explore the city and even sometimes travel a bit further for a few days.
The team is the sweetest and I feel very lucky to have been part of it. I’ll miss my time here!

This was my 1st experience at volunteering at a hostel, and Hostel Ruthensteiner has set the bar extremely high for any future roles I apply for! In fact, it's set the bar high on what I expect from a hostel in general. The Hostel Ruthensteiner is hands down the most social hostel I have ever stayed in!
I had the time of my life working here! The role itself was very manageable and this is due in large part to all the incredible volunteers and staff (special shout outs to Varun and Monique!) who make this place fun to work at!

Best way I could have ever started my Worldpackers journey! Working and engaging with the guests was pretty fun and there is plenty of free time to also enjoy the city and explore. The staff were all very nice too, Monika, Jhuan, thanks a lot for the amazing experience :)

Staying at the Hostel Ruthensteiner was my first volunteering experience and I couldn't have found a better place to do it! I met so many amazing people, I practiced all the languages I speak, the team at the hostel is amazing and I got to experience the best of what Vienna has to offer :)
