Hotel Prategiano

Travelers should choose to volunteer at our place if they know horses and can ride horses. We are looking for friendly and motivated people that want to make our loved horses and all guests happy. Our minimum stay would be 6 weeks as 2 weeks is too short to learn the horseback trail rides or even just to get to know the horses well.

We are a great team on a family base and we love to make our staff and our guests happy. Our hotel with horse riding stables are located in a beautiful mountain area in Maremma Tuscany. It's a very calm and natural place with fantastic views and sunsets as well as sunrises.

Unfortunately, this place is a misadvertisement. They promised 30 hours of work per week but we were required to work over 48 hours. I worked for 56 hours over seven consecutive days. Barn work, chores, kitchen, tacking, not riding. Accommodation was infested with bugs and had a moldy smell. The food mainly consisted of boxed pasta. Riding the horses for fun was not allowed, only for work. There was a huge lack of appreciation and disorganization. When I brought up the extreme hours they refused to comply with the original contract of 30 hours. So I left after a week. It was a nightmare. :/
