Visitors to Humboldt Experience Farmstay will live and work on a beautiful and mature off-grid permaculture homestead. They gain valuable practical experience learning about self reliance while also enjoying the great farm food, sauna, retreat guests, river and nearby redwoods and ocean. https://humboldtx.org/

I’m interested in learning and sharing the skills of simple living and self reliance. I have a lot of past experience with volunteers and strive to find projects that are fun and rewarding. I keep a positive attitude and believe in the golden rule.

This place is a slice of heaven! An authentic off-the-grid experience. Food is delicious and fresh. Munro is a really generous and welcoming host and Charlotte is kind and funny. Tasks are rewarding and fun: animal chores, painting, garden work. Munro put me on projects that needed to be done but also made sure I was doing things I was interested in, like gardening!

The energy on the farm is great and you can feel how passionate Munro is about the land. The highlight of my trip was all the sweet animals. If you’re interested in permaculture or just looking for an escape, do it!
