Kadampa Meditation Center New York
Volunteering at Kadampa Meditation Center New York (KMC NY) in Glen Spey offers an opportunity to experience first-hand the Buddhist way of life within a small but mighty community. There are many ways in which you can help, such as serving in the cafe, helping to prepare guest rooms, cooking, gardening or joining a maintenance project. One of six of its kind in the world, the World Peace Temple at KMC NY is a unique, unsurpassed experience not to be missed.
We are located in Glen Spey, New York, just 2 hours outside of New York City, situated on 100+ acres of woodland. Take this opportunity to be part of a small community of Buddhist practitioners and volunteers, make lasting connections, and enjoy a meaningful break. Typically, you will volunteer Monday to Friday, but depending on the activity, it may also include weekends. While most of the activities are not strenuous, you will need to be reasonably fit and active to come on a volunteering visit. You will have two days free each week when you can explore upstate New York, or just relax in the friendly atmosphere of the center by walking on our trails, having a latte in our World Peace Cafe, or attending one of the events in our World Peace Temple. As a volunteering visitor you are welcome to take part in many of the spiritual activities at Kadampa Meditation Center New York, such as evening classes and weekend courses.
If this is of interest to you, please complete our application and we will schedule a call where we can share more about the program and answer any questions that you might have!
