ALOHA from The Beautiful Lush Slopes of HAWAII! Our names are Shaheer & Maria! We live the vibrant, jungle paradise of South Kona, surrounded by coffee farms, fruits and flowers. Our home is perched on a hill overlooking Kealakekua Bay and Honaunau, a sacred place inhabited by the ancient Hawaiians. It is a favorite destination for world travelers, particularly for scuba divers and snorkelers who enjoy crystal blue waters teeming with colorful reef fish, dolphins and manta rays. There is a sweet and loving spirit that we call ALOHA, which is felt in the everyday interactions of people who live on this island. Within this little piece of heaven, we are creating a beautiful environmentally conscious home with edible gardens. We encourage you to apply if you take pride in your work, are open-minded, and treat people kindly.
We are world travelers and have educational backgrounds in real estate, law, anthropology and education. Maria has Costa-Rican and American roots and is bilingual in Spanish/ English. Shaheer is Egyptian American and understands some Arabic, in addition to his first language, English . We love meeting people from around the world! We can provide travelers with an insider's view of the island, exposure to Hawaii's diversity, and some of the highlights of our area. Although you may come as a "stranger" you will leave as friends and perhaps even family.

This was my first worldpackers experience and I honestly don't think it could've been any better. Shaheer and Maria are great hosts, they are so welcoming, kind and they know a lot about the area. I met really interesting people and made some great friends. The Big Island is really cool and has a lot character (the snorkeling is awesome!) The work is fair for the experience you get while you're there, also Shaheer and Maria are always there if you have any concerns. It really does feel like a home away from home and I hope to come back in the future

This experience was definitely one of a kind! This was my first time traveling alone so I was pretty nervous before, but Maria and Shaheer definitely made this place feel like a home away from home. I had a fun time spending time with the other workaway workers that were there with me, and I hope to return some day!

Rachel is a wonderful person, made great contributions, was willing to learn and always positive and helpful. Very highly recommended. We miss her.
