La Minga Hostel

La Minga is a small hostel, so we like to generate a family like environment :) we are one block from the main square, close to everything in town and easy access to tourist places outside Castro.

You will have 1 free day a week, a lot of tips for what to do and a quiet place to relax and enjoy Chiloé. There are some simple things to do and we always had good experiences with volunteers :)

Muy buena experiencia, la cual recomiendo al 100%. El hostel tiene un ambiente familiero y con buena gente, son personas super amables que te tratan de 10. Cami siempre esta dispuesta a ayudarte o a darte tips sobre los lugares a visitar y que hacer en tu tiempo libre. Las tareas son acorde a lo acordado y para nada complicadas. Por lo que considero que vale la pena ir y pasar un tiempo en el hostel y en la hermosa isla de chiloe.

Esta fue mi primera experiencia como voluntaria, y no podría haber sido en un mejor lugar! Si querés visitar un hostel acogedor y con muy buena onda ya sea
entre el staff o con los huéspedes, tenés q ir a La Minga. Cami fue de mucha ayuda y comprensiva indicándonos las tareas a hacer en el hostal; también gracias a sus recomendaciones pudimos recorrer lugares muy lindos en la isla.
Una experiencia inolvidable que recomiendo mucho!! 🫶🏼

Fue muy buena experiencia para conocer personas de otras partes del mundo y conocer Chiloé.
El hostel tiene muy buena ubicación y el staff es muy amable.

Castro is a cute city that allows you to easily access most of the islands activities by bus. La Minga is a cozy hostel with good communal spaces, kind people, and a wide variety of international travelers to meet. Camila, the owner, has all the recommendations you could need about how to spend your time off. The work is fairly simple and not too time consuming.

I really enjoyed volunteering at La Minga Hostel.
Camilla is super friendly, understanding and flexible with the task and schedule if needed. Schedules are respected and tasks are very simple.

The hostel itself is sociable with a good general atmosphere.

The location is ideal to visit the island, and Chiloé Island is really chill, with nice landscapes and culture.

I can only recommend this voluntary !
