We have had over 30 volunteers with us so far. They loved to become part of our family: eating together, working together and laughing together. Our lodge guests give us similar feedback!
Important note: We prefer volunteers that can stay at least one month. Please feel free to reach out either way, but we will give priority to those that can stay longer!
Respect and trust is really important for us. First comes respect and after time we can build more and more trust, which makes your experience even better.

Loved La Muñequita lodge. Heyner and Jenny were both so kind and treated us like family. The food Jenny cooked was absolutely delicious. The photos of the place don’t do it justice, it’s a serene and gorgeous place completely immersed in wildlife and flora. You work about 2 hours in the morning, then about 2 more at 4pm. Lots of free time in the middle of the day. Main tasks are taking care of the goats and cows. All animals here are very sweet. Amazing stay for cultural immersion, family, and connection with nature and animals.

Heyner speaks a good amount of English but I would definitely recommend knowing Spanish. Jenny cooks 3 meals a day and they are always fabulous. Heyner and his family are extremely giving and sweet, we even enjoyed karaoke with them once or twice. You do have a lot of free time as work was done in the morning for 2 hours and later around 5 o’clock for two hours with the rest being free time. It’s a great way to immerse yourself in Costa Rican culture and meet other travelers who are staying at the lodge from all over! Great experience for all!

I had an amazing time, it’s a great opportunity to get involved in the local culture, learn about farming and gardening life. And the meals that Yenny cooks are incredible!

I had an amazing time at the farm. Heyner and Jenny are so kind and welcoming, he has lots of stories and she cooks really delicious food. The tasks are mostly helping with the cows and goats; feed them, give them water, move them around. You do not work in the middle of the day, as it is very hot, only in the morning and anfternoon. There is no shop nearby, so I recommend to bring snacks if you need, and you have a lot of free time, so bring a good book. You have a privat room. Spanish is not a must as Heyner speaks english, but it helps to know a couple of words. Def recommend La Muñequita!

Muy buena experiencia! La finca es un paraíso de aves, plantas y naturaleza, la comida de la muñequita es sabrosa y con Heiner se aprende mucho sobre el campo y la vida en general. Recomendado si quieres conectar con la naturaleza, sumergirte en la cultura local, estar cerca de los destinos que ofrece la Península de Osa como el Parque Corcovado, aprender sobre el cuidado de cabras y vacas, y la administración de un eco-lodge.
