Madame Isabelle's House in New Orleans

Many past helpers have mentioned that our hostel is one of the nicest they've ever stayed in. They love our beautifully decorated house and its relaxing atmosphere. Helping here will not only be fun but also offer learning experiences about people, life, and yourself. Being exposed to multiple cultures and getting to know people from all around the world will be enjoyable and life-enriching.

Additionally, we are just one block away from the French Quarter and a five-minute walk from Frenchmen Street, home to world-famous jazz clubs. If you love music, restaurants, arts, or just enjoy fun activities every night, you should definitely check out our hostel.

My name is Sean, and I am the proud owner of this beautiful hostel. We have 4 private rooms and 3 dorm-style rooms. Currently, we have six volunteers. Volunteering at Madame Isabelle's House was one of my best travel experiences! The house is beautiful and provides in an ideal location to explore the French Quarter. I was able to enjoy the jazz scene, learn to swing dance, kayak on the bayou, browse voodoo shops and have so many other new experiences. The hostel draws in the most wonderful and interesting people of all ages from all over the world and I really enjoyed spending time with the other volunteers and guests. The volunteer hours are very reasonable and I found the tasks enjoyable. The owner, Sean, is an exceptional host.

Madame Isabelle’s is a very special place. Sean is a generous person who really tries to make the hostel fun and friendly. My perspective is somewhat different than most volunteers, because after six weeks I was promoted to manager. I more or less ran the day to day operation, from the schedule, to the inventory, to the staff, kind of everything. And while Sean and I had our disagreements at times, it always came from the both of us caring deeply about the hostel, the staff, and the guests. It was an enormous learning and growing experience for me. Thanks for everything Sean ❤️🌺🌼

This place has been absolutely magical. The hostel is a cute and quaint place and I have loved every second of it. I enjoyed meeting guests from all around the world and hanging out with them. 🩷to Maui and Chaka🐈‍⬛.
Sean is a great guy who really cares about the staff and hostel.
What I treasure the most are the friends I made. Kyle, Carly and Kristian:). My favourite time was spent laughing our arses off in the staff dorm. I could spend the rest of eternity with them. Lifelong friendships was the last thing I expected to take away from this place but I am so glad I came here:,) Grà go deo🩷
