Netherton Farm B&B
Probably because they want to spend some time in the Scottish Highlands, more precisely on the Black Isle, a fertile peninsula just north of Inverness and with easy access to the West Coast, Skye and the Hebrides (work time can be flexible for those wanting to explore. Or work if you're a digital nomad). We're a busy but relaxed B&B with stunning views, 5 guest rooms, a pub up the road and a plethora of eco-type projects with which we really need some help! We also host a Community Garden, so you could learn something of veggie growing, and hopefully much more besides.
After rearing organic children in the 70s while working in Social & Market Research here in the Highlands, I spent most of my time teaching Spanish and EFL in the south of England, then 17 years ago decided to escape back to my roots. Over the years Netherton has been renovated, extended and reinvented as a B&B which just keeps growing. Right now we need skilled volunteers who can help complete the conversion of an old railway signal box ready for summer rental.
In general tasks range from greeting guests, preparing rooms, taking bookings, feeding pigs and poultry, walking Ría the dog (pups on the way), grass cutting, gardening and helping on longer term projects such as the nascent woodland garden, walling, landscaping, fencing, tree planting and so on.
Accommodation is in either a 2 bed caravan or the Bothy (and/or in the house out of season). Full board in exchange for 25 flexible hours per week, plenty time for trips to the West, the hills, festivals, dolphin watch or just to laze around and watch the sunset. Own transport obviously not essential, but it would be a huge advantage if you're keen to get out and explore the area regularly.
