Petershof was a place where I could help a lot of people and at the same time have plenty of time to visit many different places around Germany. Regarding the job I worked in a kitchen with a woman called Mary who is a really nice person, she always tell you very well what to do and also teach you some things about cooking. It’s not a complex work at all besides it’s also interesting to meet different people at the refugee and contribute for a good cause. I thank also Jennifer for being a good host and always provided me everything I needed at Petershof! Hope to visit you again!

Overall, it was a good experience. The work in the kitchen was easy and working with Mary was delightful and the people we served we saw frequently. There is lots of down time and you are mostly left alone, but I was lucky enough to have another volunteer to go out and explore with.

I believe I had a pretty different experience than what other reviewers have had. Mostly in the social aspect. Everyone was very kind, but I hardly ever saw any of the hosts but maybe 2-3 times. The work itself was very easy and you have a lot of free time. You also get to see a lot of the same members of the community daily, which was nice. Mary in the kitchen was awesome! All in all, it was okay, just okay. The work they do is good, there just wasn’t a big social component.

I have experienced nothing but kindness and professionalism from Oliver and Jennifer. Their respectful attitude and collaborative nature have greatly contributed to a positive working atmosphere. It's a pleasure to work with such pleasant individuals.

I was there for 4 weeks. The first 2 weeks, as everybody was on holliday, I didn't have much to do. But this last 2 weeks that I have been helping at the kitchen, I loved it. I realize that every day I see the same faces, there is like a sense of comunity.
They help people in so many ways... legal, a place to stay, a plate of food, a cup of Coffee, medical assistence, etc.
I had a room for my own, which it was a plus. You are very well conected to public transport, as you have the tram stop right in the corner.
Lot of free time to enjoy Germany (work 3 days/week for about 4 hours)
