Phoenix Hostel & Cultural Center
The Phoenix Hostel & Cultural Center is located in downtown Phoenix, in the trendy Roosevelt Row Arts District, and only 1 km from the light rail tram system. Phoenix is ranked as the fastest growing large city in the United States and our neighborhood is home to a diverse range of new places to eat, drink, shop, socialize, and relax. Our location is also within walking distance to public transport, grocery stores, sports arenas, concert venues, galleries, and museums. Phoenix has a vibrant street art scene and incredible murals are easy to find throughout the downtown area.
Phoenix is surrounded by mountains and stunning desert landscapes. Hiking opportunities and scenic drives are in every direction. Phoenix is called the Valley of the Sun for good reason. It averages 299 days of sunshine per year!
We love our volunteers! The majority of our volunteers over the past ten years extend their stay with us beyond the initial two-month commitment. Some stayed for several years or returned for a second stay. We promote a friendly, inclusive, low-key atmosphere where input from volunteers is heard and encouraged.
The volunteers will work between 15 - 20 / hours each week and have a private room and free access to our guest breakfast, kitchen, wifi, and laundry. We encourage volunteers to use their days off each week to explore Phoenix and the American Southwest. And, of course, volunteers get the chance to connect with interesting travelers from all over the world!
We care about the health and well-being of our staff, guests, and community. We require all staff and volunteers to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
