Quinta Japonesa

Working in the tranquil setting of Quinta Japonesa, doesn't feel like work. And you help a family making a living.
There is a grocery shop/restaurant/cafe nearby just 2,5km and we are 12 km from the nearest city Caldas da Rainha and 20 minutes from the beach Foz do Arelho.

We are a family with 2 young children and have 6 accommodations, and about 3600m2 terrain to be maintained. We ask about 4 hours of work per day and you get a free stay and a free dinner (if you want to).

I would definitely recommend Quinta Japonesa! It was an amazing experience and I had so much fun :) Michelle and Tomas were really nice!

Volunteering at Quinta Japonesa was truly a great experience! Michelle and Tomas were very welcoming and super generous. They provided us with tips on things to do in free time as well as the fact that we got to use the car was considerate.The tasks varied depending on what they needed help with but mostly (in October) it was helping raking the garden, sweeping and doing laundry. Sometimes we also cooked the shared meal. Michelle and Tomas were clear with tasks which I appreciated and they respected us. Their place is very pretty and quiet so I experienced a feeling of calmness during my stay.

This experience was my first volunteering experience, and it set the standards high. Michelle and Thomas were kind and welcoming and made me feel like I was a part of the family. The hours were not strenuous and my time was respected. I had lots of spare time to explore local areas and immerse myself in the culture and experience. I would recommend volunteering at the quinta japonesa to any traveller. Many thanks :) :)

Michelle welcomed me with open arms! It was such a lovely experience helping around the place. The pizza on Friday nights was such a lovely touch and really made me feel at home :))
