The Lodge Essex

If you enjoy being in a peaceful rural setting immersed in nature then the Lodge is the place for you. The perfect place to switch off from the business of everyday life.

Be welcomed as part of our little family while we navigate life as new parents and also try to manage running a small business, a huge renovation project a very busy 1 year old and a very anxious rescue dog! It can sometimes be chaotic here due to the work happening on the house and a small child running around so need someone who is ready to get stuck in and help us.

This was our second stay at Fi and Ollie’s as we bonded with them so well the first time, we wanted to return. As we had already volunteered with them, we were able to jump straight in. I loved helped out anyway I could around the house. As I was an extra pair of hands for Fi, I did laundry, cleaning, cooking, babysitting and tidying up around the house.
Would absolutely recommend anyone who doesn’t mind a bit of chaos and likes to get their hands dirty, to volunteer with Fi and Ollie

Our second time volunteering here. We had a great time at the Lodge, highly recommend volunteering here. It was hard to say goodbye as we felt like it was our home away from home

This was the first volunteering experience we had done and it was amazing. From the beginning we felt so welcomed and apart of the family. The tasks and working hours for flexible during our stay. I would recommend this volunteering experience so highly!

Wow! Our 2 and half weeks with Ffi and Ollie went by so quickly. We truly felt apart of their family and felt like we were making a difference and impact volunteering there. This was our first volunteering experience and we couldn’t have picked a better one! Would recommend it to anyone.

Ffi and Ollie are wonderful people I enjoyed sharing time and meals with! They made sure we had everything we could want/need to cook meals that inspired us including locally sourced organic produce and the most delicious tomatoes from their garden. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is flexible with work, enjoys common house hold chores and cooking, renovation work, gardening, good with dogs, hanging around babies and living in community!
