Travelers will greatly benefit from volunteering with us. We are very close to everything in Hilo and have so much to offer. Our staff also have access to a shared vehicle, and we absolutely love sharing tips about traveling around Hawaii.
We have created a wonderfully comfortable and fun environment. Our team members can expect to be treated with kindness and respect at all times. We work collectively as a team to create a unique and beautiful Hawaii experience. There is a very relaxed and light work environment, and we strive to ensure our volunteers greatly benefit from their time here.

Our experience at the Wild Ginger Hotel was truly exceptional. The hotel is super close to the city, buses and beaches so it's super easy to get around to things. We have learned a lot from working with other girls, and you get a very special bond with those you live with. The work is manageable, and you have plenty of hours for free time. There are lots of things and hidden gems in the area that have made a big impression on us! All in all, the warmest recommendations for Wild Ginger Hotel! my experience at The Wild Ginger was amazing, it was my first volunteering experience and i couldn’t have picked a better place. Jason and Lee are the most gracious, generous and accommodating hosts ever, they go out of their way to make sure our time is well spent on the island and even took us on some adventures. the work isn’t hard but requires dedication and the breakfast shifts are so fun if you’re extroverted.
the girls are the absolute best and so graceful, made the most treasurable friendships💓

This was my first volunteering experience and it was an amazing one where I met incredible new people and beautiful places. It’s the perfect location and it’s very easy to travel to others and get to have a great time.
I wish I could’ve stayed longer, everything is always provided and the work is totally worth it. Definitely recommend it and would go back!

My time at Wild Ginger Ohana has been nothing short of amazing. Lee and Jason are the most grateful, thoughtful, hard working people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. They provide a safe, clean space, the most delicious comfort meals, and select ladies who are lifelong friend worthy. They have been so accepting and supportive in all endeavors and go out of their way for staff. The hotel starts to feel like home and cleaning the hotel rooms is just like having guests over to your home. It’s a very fair, rewarding exchange and I couldn’t imagine not having this experience. So much love!

This was my first Worldpackers experience, and it has been so so fun. Lee and Jason are respectful, always willing to help, and nurture the time we spend on the big island. They are also diligent on the volunteers they pick and because of that I have met some of the coolest girls here. The work is exactly as explained and the atmosphere of the hotel is always lively and fun.
