WOT Lisbon Patio

WOT Lisbon Pátio is the second hostel of the new Hub Hostels brand. It will open its doors next April and is the newest and bigger hostel in town with 180 beds. Close to the popular Parque Eduardo VI and Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, one of the most important foundations that support the Arts and Music . Is also in walking distance to streets without car access and full of nice restaurants, fancy bars, discos..., shops, gardens, museums....

We are a young team of addicted travelers and with different working area experiences (hospitality, human resources, administration). We all lived abroad for a couple of years and decided to return to Portugal and do “something different”. Different can be simply wake up and be happy to go to work because we all are doing something that we enjoy and we have a great work environment. Laughing, singing and dancing are as usual as answering an email or welcoming a guest!

The hostel itself is great, loved the spacious kitchen and outdoor space. The volunteer accommodation was decent, no complaints rlly from me.

Staff was friendly and became friends with most of the other volunteers who came through in my time.

Besides a handful of extraordinarily busy days the work was fine and could finish early a lot of days too.
Can be a bit disorganised and chaotic at times but had a great time here.

Lisbon Patio was my first Worldpackers experience and I loved it! The hostel is in a really nice condition with great facilities and atmosphere. Maybe worth knowing that there aren't loads of solo travellers passing through, mostly big groups that won't be so interested in you, but still plenty of socialising with the other volunteers who were all super fun and friendly. Fabio was the best host, really quick to reply and sort out any issues, and was really kind to me when a bereavement sent me home early. The work could be hard but almost always less than 5 hours a day, usually 3-4.

Great first volunteering experience. The hours were respected, even though the bed shift was quite hard, but we were always offered help to get it done. The sleeping quarters weren't as great as i expected but nothing terrible. The staff is very kind and other volunteers were super welcoming. The only thing is the hostel isn't as social as i had expected, it was mostly school students staying while i was there. The hostel also isn't in the center of Lisbon (20 min metro) but overall a really cool place. I'll definitely be back to visit when I'm in Lisbon again!!

I had a good time! Labour is what you’d expect at a city hostel, and can be intense at times. The vibes, the other volunteers and the opportunity to travel in your days off really made my time there!!
