The classes provided in our program allow our kids to not only participate for free but to also, learn a new language, express themselves through art, and play games in cooperation with one another in a fun, summer camp environment. Moreover, all of our volunteers have the opportunity to explore Peru through countless events and activities that allow them to experience the culture, life, and natural wonders of this magical country.
Having both international and local volunteers has been the greatest asset for the kids, the organization, and for the sustainability of our work. Through our international volunteers our kids gain cultural awareness and our local volunteers serve as a source of inspiration, showing that mastery of a second language is possible.
There is an accommodation fee of $100 per week which includes dormitory room, wifi, shared bathrooms, and use of the kitchen.
Volunteers teach English, art, and games, Monday through Thursday, in the mornings at the schools that we work with. On Fridays, we have a team meeting in which we discuss how the week went, decide what we will be focusing our lessons on for the following week, and prepare lesson materials. We pair international volunteers with local volunteers to ease cultural differences and language barriers.
