Teaching English to make a difference in Cambodia

The 4 weeks I spent at the host will forever be memorable. You're treated like a member of the family from the get go, the staff look out for you and the children are adorable Lunches and dinners are provided on working days and they are always delicious!! The teaching is whatever you want to make of it, if you are new to it all (like me) they give you loads of support and if you are looking to advance your current teaching experience you can do that too! I would suggest you look at a couple classroom games/ ideas before coming as it will be helpful to have in advance.

Wonderful experience at the the school. Very good learning and teaching opportunity. The teachers at the the school were great to work with as well. Very welcoming team and hosts. Looking forward to seeing the the school grow. They have a great set of core values.

There is much to say about the the school and the programs it runs (be it volunteer or local teacher). As an international the school, it adds to children's education via English (and Chinese) classes. The idea of recruiting foreign volunteers to try their hand at teaching while at the same time exposing the local children to other cultures (and ideally improved pronunciation and language practice of course) makes this a win win scenario. The program was well done. I fully recommend it

I had a great 5 weeks teaching English at the the school. Holy, Ramy, and the whole family are so welcoming, and it was so great to get to know them over the course of my stay. I was able to meet lots of other volunteers from all round the world, interact with the local teachers, and spend loads of time with the kids. Would definitely recommend a month teaching here! 😁

I was there two weeks and taught the small and middle aged kids. For me it was quite hard to structure the class also since I've never been a teacher in a class before. Holy and Rami and the family we're welcoming but we didn't spent a lot of time together. You will sleep in a shared room with both Rami and Holy and maybe another volunteer. The food is simple but good. the the school is about 30min- 60min by tuktuk from the city centre so about 3€ one way. The bathrooms are shared by the whole the school.
