An incredible experience, full of nature, the surf camp, beach and people from all over the world. The environment is very comfortable, Sagres is beautiful and not to mention the hostel, the facilities are amazing, the whole team is very friendly and the space for volunteers is more than enough! 100% recommended, I would love to come back very soon.

The hostel is really nice and clean. But the house where the volunteers sleep is very tiny. There is surfboards and wetsuits available and the hostel is quite close to the beach and you Can easily walk down. But there is NO bikes available, only for rent. Overall i had a great time staying in sagres and the regular staff where really nice. The host Can be hard to communicate with sometimes. And the tasks you get assigned Can be quite strange. Would recommend the experience Anyway

Due to unforseen personal circumstances I had to leave this host early. I enjoyed the yoga on the roof top and how caring and welcoming Kim and the other volunteers were.

The plan was to the surf camp here for over a month - However I contracted Covid in my first week and decided to leave after 2 weeks because of breathing problems - read this review with this context in mind. No doubt the first couple of days there were really fun and an experience I love to look back on! The few days where I worked were pretty light and manageable. I can agree that I became a fan of Kim, the volunteer manager - always understanding of your needs. Still, the owner is a little bit difficult to communicate with. On a positive note: I was taken good care of when I was sick in quarantine.

I had a really good time in Sagres Sunsstay! The town Sagres is a beautiful place with a lot of beaches to surf at. There is also places with live music which are fun to go to! Concerning the hostel, my experience was a bit mixed. The volunteer manager Kim really tries his best to listen to your wishes and make your experience as good as it can be in the hostel. However, the owner of the place is a very difficult and not open minded person. Good things were that I never worked more than agreed on and I met amazing people! The surf material is shitty though and I'd recommend bringing your own.

Had to leave early for my own sanity. The owner's daughter, Ana, treats the volunteers like rats, and discourages us from interacting with hostel guests and staff. She's controlling and checks the staff house while you aren't home for dishes and messes, and we were told we couldn't leave the house if she saw any. She has kicked out many volunteers for minor things that upset her, leaving them in a foreign country with no place to the surf camp. Pays everyone 5-7 days late and paid me nothing for 2.5 weeks of work. No working bikes. Come here if you want live in a tiny, hot, MOLDY, overcrowded shack

Sagres is and amazing place to the surf camp if you love the nature and of course the beach, about my experience in the surf camp was good I worked a lot taking pictures of the surf school and I really liked it, I learned a lot, also we become friends with the other volunteers and stuff l, they were amazing! But sometimes you feeling apart of the hostel don't really feel like a family, I think that' something is missing there is have more connection between the host and the volunteers to make us feel that we are not there just for a job and also for the experience of sharing like a family…

Mi experiencia con el surf camp fue genial, te sientes como en casa. También aprendí a surfear y podías hacer diferentes actividades en el hostal. El horario es bastante cómodo y puedes hacer diferentes cosas en el día. Si te encanta el surf o quieres aprender, este voluntariado es para ti :)

I was at the surf camp Camp for almost 5 weeks and it was a great time. I was able to meet many new people and had a great time with the other volunteers. The work was pleasant and fair. The accommodation for the volunteers took some getting used to in the beginning, but I quickly felt comfortable. If you love surfing, you are definitely in good hands in Sagres - a small village with super surf spots. However, I recommend bringing your own surfboard

The hostel is big and clean. The task are ok ! I spent a really good the surf camp in Sagres. A lil' bit disappointed with the lack of familial vibe in the hostel, especially from the manager. It can be a mood killer sometimes. Also, the staff house is a bit disgusting. The surf material is rusty (I had to buy a leash by my own because they didn't want to give us. But at the end : better than nothing, I don't regret at all <3
