Johnson's Homestay Ecohouseboat ist ein renommiertes Gästehaus, das nationale und internationale Gäste bedient, und vor mehr als 23 Jahren gegründet wurde. Es ist im Lonely Planet aufgeführt, hoch bewertet auf booking.com, Google und Hostelworld. Wir haben 5 thematische Zimmer mit eigenem Bad.
Johnson Gilbert, der Eigentümer, führte jahrelang ein Musikgeschäft, bevor er sein Homestay-Geschäft in Alleppey gründete. Derzeit gibt es nur 2 Angestellte und Johnsons lebhafter 5-jähriger Sohn, (The Kid) Aaryan.
Freiwillige werden Teil der Familie, solange sie ihre Aufgaben erfüllen und den Charakter haben, sich zu integrieren.

Ich hatte eine angenehme Zeit bei Johnson’s! Er ist eine nette Person und hält sich sehr gut an die Arbeitszeiten; ich fühlte mich beim Gärtnern im Garten sehr wohl, es ist eine schöne Unterkunft. Das Essen war köstlich und Allepey sowie die Backwaters sind definitiv eine Reise wert!

Ich wurde mit Tee und einem großen Lächeln begrüßt! Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt im Haus sehr genossen. Die Arbeit war angenehm, die Umgebung war schön (Bäume und ein Garten rund ums Haus!), und da es auf halbem Weg zwischen Strand und Stadtzentrum lag, konnte ich mich in meiner Freizeit nach Belieben umher bewegen. Die Mahlzeiten waren köstlich und reichlich 😋. Johnson ist eine wunderbare Person mit starken Werten; seine Liebe zu Tieren ist berührend, ebenso wie seine Großzügigkeit. Danke!

I had a great time at the home place. He's super friendly, explained everything clearly, and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. The work was just as described, and the food was amazing—homemade and healthy. I also got to learn about the local area and culture, which made the experience even better. Totally recommend it!

I didn't have a pleasant experience, the room that he gave me wasn't appropriate, next day he switched me to another room, it was a lot better, but a rat was in the washroom almost every night. The host and his wife didn't socialize with me, he asked me to left before. I was cleaning a very dirty washroom with an acid that he gave me to clean, and I was sweating cleaning with that toxicity, no protection and warm. He went and told me to do it quick. I replied angry "can you see me how I am, I can't do it quickly" and he said that he didn't mean it, at the end i said sorry to yelling and left.

Die erste schlechte Erfahrung mit einer worldpacker-Freiwilligen. Es gab von dem Moment an, als sie hereinkam, eine schlechte Grundstimmung um sie herum. Sie ist geschieden, unglücklich, hat Aggressionsprobleme und ist übergewichtig. Ich würde sogar sagen, dass sie eine Bedrohung für andere und für sich selbst ist.

The experience was mindblowing. Johnson was an excellent host; the place was beautiful, with a big garden. He explained the tasks that needed to be done and gave me the time to do them. He is an honest, open-minded guy and expects the people coming there to be the same. He frequently asked me if I had any issues with the food and accommodation. He even took me on a small tour along the backwaters. The food offered here was delicious,they offer good local food. Johnson respects the work hours and abides by them.He is very particular about the quality of my work, which enabled me to learn a lot.
