Ich habe Public Health studiert und bin eine junge Führungspersönlichkeit sowie Aktivist für sozialen Wandel. Ich bringe gute Führungsqualitäten in Form eines Teamaufbaus und als Mentor für Jugendliche mit. Ich leite eine Organisation namens Kunda Arts Collective, die darauf abzielt, nachhaltige Entwicklung in Ruanda durch Partnerschaften mit lokalen Künstlern und Investitionen in deren Gemeinden zu fördern.

Unfortunately there isn't any volunteering to actually do. Fiacre picked me up from the airport which was good, but then the next day I was working In his friends restaurant across the road. I went to the project about 3 times and had no responsibilities and didn't do anything with social media, and also didn't feel that comfortable there. Unfortunately I think it is just a way to earn money from the accommodation he rents out, as I did no actual volunteering. Avoid! Had to cut my trip early by almost two months as I was so bored.

Very inspiring work interviewing successful young people, and writing and publishing their mini-bios. I enjoyed all of it! Fiacre and Rodriguez, my hosts, were welcoming, showed me around, and made delicious food - usually vegetarian. My room was private, locked, comfortable and roomy.

I had an amazing experience working with Fiacre on MyStoryHouse! Fiacre is a wonderful host and make sure that I had a great time on Kigali, not only working together but also showing me around everything that Rwanda is all about!

I have been to a few volunteer experiences and I have to say that Byumba is up there with all the others. A nice change from city life with amazing people and the countryside is stunning. I lived in the library for almost two weeks and to wake up surrounded by books and then to help the amazing little people will take a very long time to fade in my memory. Francis will host you and look after the housekeeping side of things and the rest will pretty much look after itself. Life here is very basic so if you're expecting luxury then this isn't for you, I loved it))

Danke, David, für die Tage, die du in unserer Bibliothek in Byumba verbracht hast!! David hat unseren Kindern, die immer zu unserer Bibliothek kommen, viel zu bieten. Die meiste Zeit hat er den Kindern beim Lesen von Büchern geholfen, Designs und Zeichnungen erstellt, wodurch ihre Denkweisen gestärkt wurden. Er führte auch ein neues Konzept ein, bei dem er den Kindern einige Filme zeigen konnte und am Ende des Tages darüber diskutierte, was sie in den Filmen gesehen hatten, wodurch den Kindern geholfen wurde, neue Wörter zu lernen. Was unser Projekt betrifft, hat David viel dazu beigetragen, neue Gedanken darüber zu generieren, wie wir unser Projekt effektiver gestalten können. David ist eine flexible Person, die sich schnell an Veränderungen anpasst.
