At Tantakuy Hotel, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our boutique eco hotel operates with a photovoltaic solar energy system and a wastewater treatment plant that allows us to recycle and reuse all the water consumed to irrigate our gardens and green areas.

We're looking for volunteers who want to be part of this vision by helping us expand our vegetable garden, plant more trees and native species, and transform our property into a thriving oasis in the heart of Chile's hidden Atacama Desert.

You'll work alongside our team caring for gardens, growing fresh herbs and vegetables for our restaurant, improving irrigation systems, planting new green spaces, and contributing ideas to make Tantakuy Hotel even more sustainable.

Beyond the project, you'll have the opportunity to discover one of Chile's most extraordinary regions. Explore oasis villages like Pica, UNESCO World Heritage sites, ancient geoglyphs, beautiful beaches in Iquique, hidden canyons, and enjoy unforgettable nights beneath one of the clearest skies on Earth.

This is more than gardening—it's an opportunity to help create a greener future while living in one of the world's most remarkable desert landscapes.

🌱 Gardening & Organic Garden

Help care for our vegetable garden, fruit trees, native plants, flowers, and green areas. Plant new species, harvest seasonal produce, and help us transform Tantakuy Hotel into a thriving oasis in the heart of Chile's hidden Atacama Desert.

💧 Sustainability Projects

Learn how an eco hotel operates using photovoltaic solar energy and a wastewater treatment system that recycles and reuses water for irrigation. You'll support composting, efficient irrigation, and other sustainable initiatives that reduce our environmental impact.

🌿 Landscaping & Oasis Development

Work alongside our team to create new green spaces, improve pathways, expand shaded areas, and plant more trees and native species. We welcome creative ideas that help make Tantakuy Hotel even more beautiful and sustainable.

🌞 Flexible Work Rhythm

Every day is different at Tantakuy. Some days you'll be planting, harvesting, or caring for the gardens, while others you'll focus on improving green spaces, sustainability projects, or seasonal tasks. You'll work closely with our team, enjoying a balanced routine while experiencing life in one of the world's most extraordinary desert landscapes.

Be punctual, responsible, and committed to your agreed responsibilities.
Treat guests, team members, and fellow volunteers with kindness and respect.
Keep shared accommodation and common areas clean and organized.
Help us care for our tools and equipment by using them responsibly.
Follow our sustainability practices, including water conservation, recycling, and composting.
Alcohol and drugs are not permitted during working hours.
Respect the quiet atmosphere of the hotel, especially after 9:00 PM.
Be open to learning, sharing ideas, and working as part of a team.
Most importantly, enjoy the experience and help us leave Tantakuy greener and more beautiful than it was yesterday.
