Programmdetails

🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing
Our main project is to build a simple wooden deck or pergola at the farmhouse. Other tasks include:

Painting and staining wood and other surfaces.
Making and installing shelves.
Small carpentry, DIY and general improvement projects.
Occasionally helping with projects at our beachside guesthouse in Kanzaki, Maizuru.
You don’t need to be a professional carpenter, but practical skills, experience with tools and a willingness to get involved are important.

Couples are welcome! If one partner has carpentry skills, the other can help with painting, sanding, staining, decorating and other tasks.

🏡 Your Accommodation
You’ll stay in the traditional farmhouse itself, with the house to yourself during your stay, although I may occasionally stay with you while we work on projects together.

We’ll mainly work at the farmhouse, with some time spent at my beachside guesthouse in Kanzaki, right in front of the ocean.

🍱 What We Provide
Accommodation in the farmhouse.
Breakfast and lunch with meals often shared.
A friendly, relaxed working environment.
Informal Japanese language lessons for anyone interested.
The chance to experience both mountain and coastal village life in rural Japan. You may stay a few days at the beach house where other little jobs may be required.
🌸 Experience a Different Side of Japan
If you enjoy building, making, and improving things, this is a wonderful opportunity to use your skills while experiencing traditional Japanese architecture, peaceful mountain scenery, and beautiful beaches.

We’re looking for reliable, practical people who enjoy hands-on projects and are happy to contribute their skills.
