Me encanto hacer mi voluntariado con Karin y los gatos. El lugar es increíble y con mucha paz. Los gatos son amores y hacer las tareas junto a ellos no ha sido nada desagradable. Recomiendo esta experiencia ! Gracias Karin por todo ☺️🤍

Grata experiencia!! La casa de los gatos es bellísima. Amé compartir y colaborar con ello, son muy dulces y agradecidos. Las horas y días libres se respetan, incluso Karin es súper flexible con ello. Hace un gran trabajo por los animales!!! Mi trabajo fué barrer, trapear, cambiarles el agua y limpiar los platos de comida. Si sobraba tiempo colaboraba limpiando en el hostel. Aquí hay mucho verde y mucha paz. El pueblo está a 30' caminando o 10' en mototaxi. La playa a 8'/10' caminando. Karin, Pauline y Helga fueron siempre muy amables y protectoras. GRACIAS por esta oportunidad!! :) ✨🌸

I had a great time at the shelter with Karin! The cats are all very sweet. The property and nature surrounding is lovely, especially if you like being in nature. It is about a ten minute walk to the nearest beach, which is beautiful. Lots of other beaches around to walk to / take moto taxi. The town is easy to navigate as it's only one main street. Daily tasks consisted of sweeping, mopping, changing and cleaning water bowls in the shelter. Sometimes other work in the hostel but I was glad to help! Keep in mind it's rustic- might not be for you if you don't like bugs and want hot water.

Ich war zu spät, um eine Bewertung für Sasha zu schreiben. Danke, Sasha, für all deine Hilfe und dafür, den Katzen Liebe zu geben. Du bist eine 5☆ (das ist für Leute, die das lesen, damit sie es wissen). Wenn du eines Tages zurückkommen willst.... immer willkommen. Außerdem wird sich die kleine Wilma freuen, dich wiederzusehen. It was perfect for a first experience. The beach is 10 minutes away and Karin offers to do horse riding excursiones for free! She has a big heart for her animals and tries everything to keep them comfortable and healthy. The room is diretly next to the kitchen where the gusets cook and eat and walk past. That could maybe annoy someone who prefers it to have it quiet and very privat. It has still everything you need. All in all i had a good experience and i recommend if you love animals expecially cats and if you like living in nature.

I have a lot to say about my experience in the shelter's house but most of all : it was one of the best time in my life. I spent two months here and I have learned so much About myself during the Time. Karin is a great host she will be very clear about what she wants and she is such a pure soul it was heartwarming to see. She takes so much care about the animals and is very cautious about the comfort of each one of them. Las Galeras is a very nice town and is close by feet you can go to 7 very nice beaches around. I loved cleaning and taking care of the cats and I will miss them so much 😢 I

Hallo Romane, mir geht es genauso... ich bin sehr dankbar für all deine Hilfe und Fürsorge für meine Tiere. Natürlich vermissen wir dich. Und wann immer du zurückkommen möchtest... pack deine Sachen zusammen und komm vorbei. Du musst mich nicht fragen, die Tür steht dir immer offen.
Romain geht es gut, er ist jetzt schon fast eine Katze. 😊

I had to apply last minute to Karin's the shelter, after my other volunteer work has been cancelled. Karin was so kind to agree to let me stay over on such short notice. The work consisted of cleaning the shelter and helping around the hostel. The hostel itself is beautiful, the shelter. For my first volunteer experience it was great, I met lovely people. Tasks are not hard but Karin is particular and cares about the health and comfort of the cats so communication is really important! Make sure to ask her to show you how it needs to be done if you're unsure. Overall great experience :)

The work with the cats was so much fun and I fell in love immediately with every one of them. Cleaning the shelter with so many little helpers didn't really felt like work! The job was cleaning the food bowls and sweep and wipe out all rooms. Additionally, somedays there were some small side tasks, to help Karin. So it wasn't much work a day. Karin is an incredibly strong, kind and attentive person. She asked me everyday if I feel comfortable. She also gave me fresh eggs from her chickens, if she had some and did everything to make you feel comfortable. I would always do it again! Thank you

For my first trip ever, I was blown away by my experience. Karin is one of the kindest and most genuine people I have met. She made me feel welcome from my first step inside and it was clear that she deeply loves her animals and gives them an amazing life. I loved spending my mornings working with the cats and taking short breaks to cuddle up with them. I will miss them all dearly, but especially Julio, Stevie, Kitty, Lilith, Melanie, Charlie, Bobby, Tigre and Mona Lisa. The hostel itself is absolutely beautiful and truly felt like a home away from home for me. Thank you for everything Karin!

I liked it there i expected something dirfferent but at the end it was also a good experience. Sadly the hostel is on a the shelter where not a lot of people are but it was fine the nature over there was very beautiful. The host also was friendly most of the time and the sleeping place was okay it wasnt the best but it was okay i am very thankful for everything and i had a good time

My stay was great. Karin is a very friendly and helpful lady who cares a lot about the well-being of her animals. I really enjoyed the work with the cats and miss them a lot. Thanks to Karin and her horses, I was able to fulfill my childhood dream and ride with the horse the shelter beach. The nature was beautiful. The area is very quiet and it took me about 45 minutes to get to the „town“. Breakfast was not included. Unfortunately I was the only girl for that period and felt often quite lonely. I recommend it to everyone who loves the quiet and the nature. Thanks for having me!😊
