My experience at the Samaritan school was incredible. Emmanuel, Jackson, Mfaume, and the entire team truly take care of the volunteers. I was in the baby class with teacher Philippina, who immediately welcomed me and involved me, I felt useful and comfortable very quickly. On weekends, safari, beach, and city excursions are offered to everyone,incredible days that allow you to share amazing moments with the other volunteers. This trip was one of the best I've ever had the chance to experience. An experience I sincerely recommend! Thank you for such an important and fantastic program!!

The children are amazing! They are truly joyful, keen to learn and full of love. The Islamic school was a wonderful environment. The Samaritan evening class children were great too. Very interactive and hard working. They appreciate all the time you spend with them. I was so sad to say goodbye. I learnt a lot from this experience especially about Tanzanian culture: good and bad sadly. Mfaume and Sauda are such kind individuals. Mfaume made my experience what it was by taking us on day trips, making us laugh and always keeping us busy. The food cooked by the chef Ibrahim was amazing-so tasty.

I had a wonderful experience volunteering with this organization. Everyone was welcoming, supportive, and friendly from the very beginning. The experience allowed me to meet new people, learn new skills, and contribute to a meaningful cause. I really appreciated the positive atmosphere and the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone. I would highly recommend this volunteering experience to anyone looking to help others, gain valuable experience, and create great memories.

Best experience! Had a great couple of weeks with the team from THO and working in Mwananyamala as well as joining an outreach. So much experience for me and the people were open and interested in exchanging knowledge and experience. THO is also really good at being welcoming, including, respectful and funny. Have had so much fun and made friends which were extremely hard to leave. The trip with THO exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to go back!

As a German midwife who just graduated, I loved this experience. Not because I learned new things for my practice (I am not gonna do anything like they do it in the hospital) but to keep calm in emergency situations when you don't have a lot of instruments, to decide when to help a baby and when it just needs some time, to emerge myself hands on and ask the uncomfortable questions. People,Host Family, Organization, everyone was very nice and welcoming.

I volunteered at this project for three weeks and it was one of the best experiences in my life. Working at the school was a lot of fun, the children were very friendly and I got a great insight into daily life there.The accommodation was good. There was a small issue with the shower and no running water but it was fixed immediately. A special thanks to Mfaume and Jackson. They were incredibly kind, always helped us, and made us feel safe and welcome. We could talk with them about anything and also had a lot of fun in our free time. Overall I felt very safe and can recommend this project.

My time with THO was the most memorable and meaning experience I've had. As a the organization care professional and student, I got the opportunity to learn, see, and do so much. I got to make meaningful contributions to patient care and experience the vibrant culture the organization has to offer. Everyone at THO, my host family, and all the doctors and nurses at Mwananyamala Hospital were truly so welcoming and supportive and I couldn't thank them enough. Would recommend this program to any the organization care professional, student or anyone looking to make a difference :)

My experience with THO was positive and I am glad I participated. I have definitely changed after this trip and feel like a better person. My advice is to go with a friend. I am not happy about the fact that I asked to go to the pediatric department and I was not sent to the department I had chosen months before. The hospital was far away—45 to 50 minutes there and the same for the return trip. On the other hand, the house was clean, and the host mom was very kind to us. As for afternoon activities, there are plenty of options to have fun in company of other volunteers!

Volunteering at Samaritans school was fun, challenging and chaotic. Baby class in the morning, with Noella, was great - she is brilliant with the kids. Afternoon class felt unstructured, at times, and I found the language barrier frustrating as I struggled to explain lessons in a way students could truly understand. As such, my contribution didn't feel as meaningful as I'd have liked. Still, they are wonderful kids, and dancing and singing with them after class was a daily highlight. The accommodation is comfortable and the food is delicious, but be aware you're a long way from the city!
