Die Erfahrung war wunderbar, ich verbrachte zwei Wochen in Yayem, einen Ort, an dem man sich mit der Natur verbindet, man kann barfuß überall hingehen, denn die Wege sind Sand, und alle Menschen sind unglaublich, wie eine große Familie. Aber ich würde dieses Freiwilligenprogramm niemandem empfehlen, der Französisch nicht fließend spricht, denn niemand spricht Englisch. Andererseits muss die Organisation des Freiwilligenprogramms verbessert werden, sie brauchten drei Wochen, um mir zu antworten, als das Reisedatum sich der Nähe näherte, und am Abreisetag, als ich meinen Rückflug nehmen wollte, war mein Taxi noch nicht reserviert.

Großartige Erfahrung mit dem Projekt. Ich würde auf jeden Fall zustimmen, dass es eine vollständige kulturelle Immersion des Projekts ist. Sowohl die Gemeinschaft als auch die Familie waren unglaublich. Mohamadou lebt in den USA und hat es aus dem Ausland organisiert. Daraus folgt, dass er eine gute Position finden kann, die zu jedem Freiwilligen passt. Vielen Dank für die Erfahrung!

I spent three weeks in Fimela and the host family was the highlight of my stay. They welcomed me warmly and made me feel at home, sharing their daily life and the project. Another very special part was the time with the kids: around 15-25 children full of energy and joy. We painted, danced, played and laughed together every day, and those moments gave me so much in return. Living simply, close to nature and surrounded by such people, made this a truly meaningful experience.

Volunteering at Centre Xam-Xamle in Fimela has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The host family was incredibly welcoming, caring, and reliable. From the very beginning, I felt very safe and loved. At the school, I participated in the Summer Camp, which included 3 hours in the morning with the younger kids (ages 4-12), and 2 hours in the afternoon with the older ones (ages 12-16). We did French and art in the morning, and English and Spanish in the afternoon. The students are wonderful, eager to learn and full of joy. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience to everyone!

Supporting the AMFE organization in Agnam, the project, was a wonderful challenge. However, volunteers must be aware of the risks and prepare for them. I recommend always being transparent about the challenges of being in such remote places with many unmet basic needs and vast cultural differences. Always have a well-prepared risk map with the support of your host. This will help you know what you should pack, how much money you'll spend monthly, and what safety measures you should take to protect your health.

Ich hatte ein Problem und konnte nicht zum Projekt reisen. Ich habe Mohamadou mehr als einen Monat im Voraus informiert, und er hat mich von Anfang an darauf hingewiesen, dass ich mein Geld zurückbekommen würde. Zuerst sagte er, es würde ein paar Tage dauern, dann ein paar Wochen, dann bis Ende der Woche… und jetzt habe ich überhaupt keine Neuigkeiten. Er versprach, dass ich mein Geld zurückbekommen würde, aber meine Nachrichten werden nicht mehr geöffnet oder gelesen. Seitdem habe ich nichts mehr gehört. Es ist wirklich enttäuschend, dass es so gekommen ist. In der allerersten E-Mail stand deutlich, dass bei jedem Problem eine Rückerstattung erfolgen würde; Glaub das nicht. Pass auf.

Taking the step to participate in this the project was undoubtedly one of the best decisions we've made. the project takes place in a school in Gandigal. The hospitality from the host family was outstanding, and the volunteer residence exceeded our expectations. Our main activity was teaching the children in the morning, we found it quite necessary to have an intermediate level of French to carry out these activities in a dynamic and engaging way. We would also like to thank Mohamadou for his commitment to the volunteers. He was always attentive to us and helped with any problems that arose.

The experience at Shiloh Christian Academy in the village of Gandigal has been a life changing, one that I will never forget. I had the opportunity of meeting so many impactful people and living so many experiences while being fully immersed in the Senegalese the project and lifestyle. After the end of my trip, I can definitely say I have done everything I wanted to do and even more than that. I wanted to thank Mohamadou who has always been supportive from abroad, and the whole team at the school in Gandigal who cooked us wonderful food everyday. I would strongly recommend the project for everyone.

Unfortunately we hadn't finished the mission because Vi felt sick but it was a great time and an honor to be there and see what Grace's family built

The experience, in Gandigal in the summer school, has been very nice, the children are great, the house and the school are in the same building, near Gandigal you have beaches and other places nearby to visit, the Senegalese that I have known are very nice and help you with everything you need, I will return to the project
