Ich verbrachte eine Woche im Englischinstitut und half den Schülern dabei, ihr Englisch zu üben und zu verbessern. Es hat mir sehr gefallen, es mit allen Schülern zu teilen; es war eine Freude. Das Personal des Instituts ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Arbeitszeiten werden eingehalten und die Unterkünfte für Freiwillige sind sehr komfortabel. Ich kann es nur wärmstens empfehlen, vielen Dank für alles!

My experience at SALC Riobamba was good. The apartment for volunteers is great and all of the teachers and people in administration is so kind and helpful. The work itself gets a bit repetitive after a week as you're doing speaking with the students and you mostly talk about the same thing for hours. But I know this is something that they are working on, so that volunteers have more materials to work with the students. Lunch and dinner is not provided as it says here on Worldpackers, but you get payed 5$ a day to cover anything you need to buy.

Nora und ihre Kollegin waren eine große Hilfe in der Schule bei der Aktivität, bei der wir Ihre Unterstützung benötigen. Wie wir zu Beginn erklärt haben, besteht die Arbeit darin, mit den Schülern Sprechübungen durchzuführen, nicht in einer Form von Unterricht oder Nachhilfe, weshalb wir das Thema jeder Unterhaltung und jeder Gesprächssitzung mit den Schülern offenlassen – sowohl um die Kultur des eigenen Landes und der Schüler kennenzulernen, als auch um die Kultur der Ausländer kennenzulernen, die uns besuchen und uns mit den Schülern helfen.

I had a great time at SALC Riobamba. The staff was very welcoming and even picked me up from the bus station when I arrived. I had to work 5 hours per day for 5 days a week and this schedule was always honored. Even when they had to change the schedule because of the electricity cuts, they told me beforehand and made sure I still only worked 5 hours per day. I would recommend this experience for anyone with fluent English.

I first spent two weeks at SALC Guayaquil, then six weeks at SALC Riobamba. At both locations, I conducted English speaking sessions with students for five hours every weekday. In both Guayaquil and Riobamba, the students were very friendly, and I enjoyed talking with them about many topics. The staff at both schools were also helpful, and we spent many hours chatting during lunch or after school hours. My day climbing on Chimborazo was the best. I would recommend this experience for anyone interested in helping Ecuadorian students with their English skills.

This experience offers a welcoming environment where I've improved my Spanish. The staff treats me with respect, and I've made friends from around the world. Exploring the beautiful city and its culture every weekend is a joy. Highly recommend!

Working at SALC in Riobamba was a great experience! Everyone at the school has been super welcoming (both teachers and students), what made the work very enjoyable, even if it can get a bit monotonous at times. I also felt very comfortable in the flat, which is located directly in the school. Last but not least, the city of Riobamba has many good and cheap restaurants and offers many opportunities for activities (especially hiking - and you can also see the Chimborazo from the school). All in all, I would have loved to stay longer!

I had a really good experience. i took students for conversations in English monday-friday for five hours. it was easy and i met lots of interesting people. i was allowed to choose my hours and when i was sick for two days they were understanding. thank you karo and esteban for the experience :)

Really bad communication, lack off respect and the hosts do not speak English so getting any communication across is difficult. They have many things not listed in the description that they want you to do like record videos for their social media and take photos etc it just was not a friendly space. Constantly being rushed and never being thanked it was a disappointment.

Wir empfehlen sie nicht für irgendeine Freiwilligenarbeit. Sie kamen einen Tag später als angekündigt, sie haben sich betrunken und ein Zimmer beschädigt, sie haben die Schlüssel mitgenommen, die wir ihnen gegeben hatten, um in die Schule zu gelangen, und sie haben trotzdem Beschwerden. Man geht davon aus, dass, wenn Sie Freiwilliger sind und helfen möchten, was nicht Ihr Fall ist, Sie eine Seite suchen sollten, die Sie akzeptiert, ohne etwas zu tun. Und wenn Sie kein Video aufnehmen wollten, hätten Sie es uns sagen können und uns nicht Zeit stehlen. Trotzdem haben wir ihn gut bewertet, was er nicht verdient, weil er inkompetent ist.

I enjoyed working in the school Centre so much :) I connected really well with the staff and the students, such amazing people! And I did not want to leave. I learned incredibly a lot about the local culture, even had my chances to practice Spanish, and felt completely safe and comfortable during all of my stay.
