Meine Zeit mit WF war unglaublich. Während meines Aufenthalts konnte ich in drei verschiedenen Standorten arbeiten, von denen jeder sehr schöne Dinge zu bieten hatte. Ehrlich gesagt hätte ich keinen besseren Ort wählen können, um meine Freiwilligenreise zu beginnen. Ich konnte viele Touren machen, viele unglaubliche Menschen treffen und in Gewächshäusern arbeiten und dabei viel über Nachhaltigkeit lernen. Danke, Victoria und Toti, für das Vertrauen und die Gelegenheit.

In Island zu sein war schon immer ein Traum. Jeder Moment mit der Gemeinschaft war fantastisch. Fahren, zum Supermarkt gehen, die Polarlichter mit besonderen Menschen sehen… einfach eine der besten Erfahrungen meines Lebens. Toti und Victoria waren immer sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit bei allen Fragen, es war wirklich unglaublich! Ich kann es nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Leider war meine Gesamterfahrung sehr enttäuschend. Ich reiste nach Island für die Worldpackers-Erfahrung mit einem gültigen irischen Visum, aber mir wurde die Einreise an der Grenze verweigert, weil Freiwilligenarbeit in Island als Arbeit gilt und ich nicht die erforderliche Arbeitserlaubnis hatte. Mir ist bewusst, dass die Einwanderungsentscheidung selbst nicht in der Kontrolle des Gastgebers lag. Allerdings glaube ich, dass dies etwas gewesen wäre, das vor meiner Reise ordnungsgemäß klargestellt werden hätte sollen, da es zu erheblichen unerwarteten Kosten führte und ich nicht an der Erfahrung teilnehmen konnte. Es war eine wunderbare Erfahrung, mit dieser Organisation zusammenzuarbeiten. Sie waren äußerst aufmerksam, sie haben mir viel mehr geboten, als ich erwartet hatte, und kümmerten sich immer um mein Wohlbefinden. Es war eine echte Freude, Freiwilligenarbeit mit ihnen zu leisten, und ich habe auch über Praktiken gelernt, die der Umwelt helfen. Ich kann sie wirklich sehr empfehlen😍

If you ever get the chance to embark on a volunteer program with WF, go for it! I learned so much about Iceland, how they are working to become a true green country, about the wild nature and this all at the same time I got to meet volunteers from literally all around the world. I can't express how happy and grateful I will forever be. Victoria and Toti are super chill, easy going leads to learn from! Thank you so much!

I'll be forever grateful for this opportunity. The workdays, facilities & food were 10/10. The people behind WF work very hard to create a + environmental impact, always w/ deep care for human sensitivity & integrity. Toti & Victoria clearly understand that environmental education & awareness are the only real ways to plant seeds of contagious change in the short term, & they do so in the kindest way a volunteer who's alone & far from everything familiar can be treated: w/ warmth, active listening, dialogue & respect. I totally recommend embarking on this adventure & I plan to return soon!

I don't have enough words to describe how amazing this experience was. We stayed in a sustainable community and our task was working in the greenhouse, super fun and great learning experience. But the best part was being able to connect with the community of icelandic people living there, it felt like a big family! Also had the opportunity to meet other volunteers from across the world and learn from their culture too! We felt welcomed from the first moment we arrived, thanks to the person in charge, Victoria. We didn't wanted to leave and hope we are able to come back!

First of all, thank you Victoria for this experience. I'm happy to have come, but I agree with Jimena's comment. I think I spent 10% of my time doing the tasks that were in the contract. Communication in the NGO still has something to be desired. We are often informed in the morning or the evening before what needs to be done the next day. Victoria was a very good, attentive, and gentle listener; she's an amazing woman, but I think she's overwhelmed by the work we entrust to her. I still had a good experience thanks to the people I met, but I wouldn't recommend it either.

I had a disappointing experience with this volunteer program in Iceland. My one-month commitment ended after two weeks due to the organization's lack of professionalism. I was promised a camp leader role, but upon arrival, my activities were changed and never aligned with the signed agreement, despite three follow-ups. The project manager, Victoria, failed to fulfill commitments, and communication was poor. Temporary housing was overcrowded with 11 people, one shower, and two toilets in a space meant for five. Many volunteers shared frustrations about the disorganization. I don't recommend it.
