Die Erfahrung im Weingut war wirklich großartig. Die Arbeit war etwas hart, weil es vorübergehend war, aber die Zeiten wurden immer eingehalten, so dass wir den ganzen Nachmittag Zeit hatten, den Ort kennenzulernen, ein Nickerchen zu machen oder aus der Ferne zu arbeiten, wie ich es tat. Gill und James sind wirklich großartige Gastgeber, während der Mahlzeiten hatten wir schöne Gespräche und lernten die Lebensgeschichten der anderen kennen. Außerdem ist Gill eine wirklich gute Köchin; das Essen ist immer lecker und sehr gesund. Der Ort ist schön, er ist von Natur umgeben und man hat in der Nähe sehr schöne Orte zu besuchen, wie Well und Bath.

Was für eine fantastische Erfahrung! Ich verbrachte einen Monat damit, im Weingut Fenny Castle zu arbeiten, und es war wirklich eine wunderbare Zeit! Zunächst waren Gill und James wunderbare Gastgeber; ich hatte so viel Glück, sie als Teil meiner ersten Erfahrung zu haben! Die Arbeitszeiten wurden eingehalten, fantastisches Essen wurde serviert (unglaubliche Pasta) und wirklich gute Unterkünfte. Es liegt im wunderschönen Somerset und in der Nähe von Wells, von dort aus kann man Orte wie Bath und Bristol in einer Stunde besuchen. Wir arbeiteten an den Weinbergen und schnitten die Reben zurück. Ich empfand große Zufriedenheit, als wir den Ortega-Abschnitt an meinem letzten Tag beendet hatten. Das ist ein Muss!

Der Weinbaubetrieb war eine großartige Erfahrung 🌻 Ich half bei verschiedenen Ernteaktivitäten und bei der eigentlichen Ernte, etwas Cider-Abfüllung und Apfelpflücken. Gill, James und Bella lassen dich dich sehr willkommen fühlen und kümmern sich darum, dass du alles hast, was du brauchst; sie sind sehr wundervoll, freundlich und entspannt. Ich danke ihnen beiden dafür, dass sie mir die Gelegenheit gegeben haben, zu erleben, wie das Leben in einem Weinbaubetrieb ist🌻 Zu dieser Jahreszeit kann das Wetter sehr windig, stürmisch und regnerisch sein, aber es gibt manchmal wunderbare sonnige Tage; man kann mit dem Fahrrad zur Wells-Station gelangen oder in 45 Minuten zu Fuß gehen, da der Minibus nach Wells etwas spärlich sein kann

Gill and James made me feel at home right from the beginning. I have had lots of interesting conversations with them and we shared lots of laughs. The food was delicious, especially the basil pesto that Gill always made. Bella was a lovely dog who welcomed me when I first got there. The tasks varied from working in the winery to painting a shed, so it was great to have a variety of different things to do there. I would really recommend spending some time with them!

I stayed with Gill and James for ten days at the end of July. The work was a mixture of working in the winery and then doing some painting of the house. It was decent physical effort but it was great being outside all day and you finish by lunch so the whole afternoon was free to relax or explore the area. James and Gill were amazing hosts, we had some great conversations about wine, Somerset and so much more. The food was amazing and seemingly endless too and Bella is such a cutie. Would absolutely recommend to anyone

We had a truly wonderful stay at the winery! From the moment we arrived, Gill and James went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed to feel completely at home. Their attention to kindness and genuineness made our experience very special. They were always available, thoughtful, and ready to help with anything, lovely hosts in every sense. The atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming, and we left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and very well looked after, although there was a lot work to do! Highly recommended!

The days we spent with Gill, James and Bella were very special and will always be in our hearts. It was a wonderful experience, we learned new skills and it was interesting to learn how a winery works. James taught us calmly and clearly what should be done and encouraged us at all times. Gill was very welcoming, just like James, always concerned about whether we were well. During meals, there were very fun and friendly moments. Bella was love at first sight for me, we went for walks several times and she was an excellent guide to show us the whole neighborhood and its beautiful fields.Thanks

Wow, how happy we were in this place 🥹. I already miss every day, every moment with Gill, James and Bella 🐶 The tasks were different and this enriched our experience. We learned a lot about the winery and loved this project as if it were our own project 🥰. Dinner time was full of laughter (James may seem serious, but he is the funniest 🙃). Gill is kind, loving and smiling and they were very patient with my bad English 🙌🏽. I recommend this volunteering to everyone who really wants to help with love and respect for this place and , they are special people 💙🩷. We will be back!

My experience at the winery with Gill, James, and their lovely dog Bella was very pleasant. They welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home from day one. For three weeks, our work consisted of pruning the vines, as it was the season for it. Although repetitive, it was a rewarding task in a beautiful setting. We also had the chance to spend some days with their daughter Katherine, who was very kind. And I can't forget to mention their curries and apple crumbles, they were absolutely delicious!

My friend Annette and I volunteered at a the winery, where Gill and her husband, James, welcomed us warmly, making us feel at home. Their lovely dog, Bella, often joined us while pruning, making our days even better. Gill's kindness and humour made every moment special, and her curry dishes transported us to India. Both she and James were always attentive to our needs. It was an enriching experience, filled with laughter, learning, and the warmth of wonderful people.
